Tritium Mining

To save me looking it all up, can someome give me the lowdown on Tritium mining? I don't need to know about the ship or how to mine. I just need to know where to go. Are there best places? Are there hotspots, double or triple hotspots or what? In other words, what's the optimimu way to get it? Is there something worthwhile I can mine at the same time?

I go mining for more valuable stuff and just collect what tritium is there. Tritium is literally everywhere. I usually have a half hold full of it by the end of the mining session (and the other stuff is more valuable, so could be sold to buy tritium if that's what you need).

Jeez, already completely conflicting advice and nothing specific. It must have been a stupid question. I guess I'll just have to use Google.

You received good advice, to recap, icy rings, hotspots, singles doubles and triples, you may find bromellite, Void Opals and LTD's, you may find a LTD hotspot overlapping a trit hotspot. i am currently mining a double trit hotspot with an overlappiing LTD hotspot and after a few mining sessions have accumulated 940 tonnes of trit and one LTD...

Are you somewhere that prevents you buying Tritium?

I know it doesn't answer your question but, you really are better off buying your Tritium for the going-rate and then spending your time doing more profitable stuff to pay for it.

If you need to mine Tritium, look for pristine icy rings wherever you are.
If you want to mine Tritium, I believe Bellite 4 was the place to go - but that was back when FC's had just arrived. Dunno if that's still the case.

Any icy ring will have Tritium in.
I mine happily in a single hotspot, but a double will likely give better results.
Laser mining and SSD mining is the methods - there are no cores.
SSD's can be very generous.

LTD's can be found often, as well as other newly valuable minerals.

OK....advice use your PWA to find glowing asteroids...pretty much any hotspot will have some tritium in it.... there is no easy way...just fire a prospector at any asteroid its a matter of try it and see...some have 30% tritium others 3%...use your mining lasers and blast away at the asteroids. Patience is a virtue....good luck...CMDR.

I want to MINE tritium in my laser Cutter. I just wanted to know exactly where to go. Ideally, I could get something valuable at the same time. I was hoping somebody would say go to system X planet Y and mine minerals A and B while you get loads of tritium. That would have been the logical answer to my question, but I should have known that you guys don't think like that. My bad!

🤷‍♂️

go to EDDB - bodies search and find - put your location in the box that says Reference system, select ring type Icy and press find bodies.

Select nearest system marked Pristine go there and probe the rings:)

There are two reasons why you've only got the one definitive answer from Stealthie just so you know:

1. The Miner's tool doesn't include tritium, so people can't just look up 15 systems full of overlapping hotspots and link them for you like they can with painite, LTDs etc.
2. Most people are only concerned with speed and it's faster to use the miners tool to mine something else that is worth credits and then use them to buy your tritium.

I get that you want to go mining but the fact is very few people in the bubble can be bothered and that's just how it is.
