Tropical pack animals, requirements, predictions and thoughts

Hey everyone. As always when a dlc has been announced, I make these posts. What will our animals habitats be requiring and what not

Lar Gibbon
Endangered
Tropical
Medium sized habitat
Lots of climbing room
1-4. Mate for life
Bonus enrichment with siamangs or some SEA

Red River Hog
Least concerned
Tropical
Medium sized habitat
1-10 1 male 9 females
Bonus enrichment with mandrills

Foosa
Threatened
Tropical, grassland
Small sized habitat
1-6

Asian water monitor
Least concerned
Tropical, aquatic
Medium sized
1-4

Sloth
Least concerned
1-4?

I really only invested in RRH and am familiar with lar gibbons, therefore the rest I just don’t know much about.
Tell me what you think the results will be and if I got any info wrong about above.

Lar gibbon will probably have the same bonus enrichments as siamangs and orangutans do, so otters, tapirs and stuff.
Monitors will have 1-2 most likely.
Sloths are solitary to my knowledge, but i cant see them doing just 1 or 2 in that giant exhibit so 1-4 seems likely

I expect the Lar Gibbon to have the same interspecies enrichment as the Siamang, unless there are some regional differences I'm not aware of.

I'd be pretty disappointed if the Red River Hog didn't get the interspecies bonus with at least bongo and okapi. Possibly some other ungulates too, pygmy hippos?

I think the social size for the Fossa will be 1-2. Their Wikipedia page states that, "Except for mothers with young and occasional observations of pairs of males, animals are usually found alone, so that the species is considered solitary."

Yes, I haven't seen more than one Fossa per exhibit in real zoos

I don’t think I have ever seen a fossa.
Bronx zoo did have mandrills and red River hogs together. Judging by their range I think the okapi and maybe the bongo will get interspecies bonus with the hogs.
Are gibbons social at all? I know they are monogamous.
I know I’ve seen sloths before and I don’t recall if there has been more than 1 in an enclosure.

Hogs should get bonus with gorillas. Houston Zoo houses them together. A group of no more than 6 hogs, I'd say

Gibbons, I'm not entirely sure, but I'd say they have the same as siamangs EXCEPT that they can't be housed with siamangs. Gibbons, I guess a group of 4?

Sloths. Not sure. I'd say 3 in an enclosure.

Fossa, only 1 or 2 and no interspecies enrichment.

The monitor will likely be 1 or 2 and no interspecies enrichment

This is a list of all the species in Planet Zoo which have been mixed with red river hogs:
  1. African elephant
  2. Mandrill
  3. Western lowland gorilla
  4. Bonobo
  5. Meerkat
  6. Plains zebra
  7. Southern white rhinoceros
  8. Hippopotamus
  9. Pygmy hippopotamus
  10. Nyala
  11. Bongo
  12. Nile lechwe
  13. Thomson's gazelle
  14. Blue wildebeest
  15. African buffalo
  16. Okapi
  17. Reticulated giraffe
  18. Common ostrich

I would struggle to say which should get a bonus with them. Definitely not okapi, which have only been mixed once in a huge reserve (they are normally very flighty and nervous animals that don't do well with other large mammals), but bongo would probably be fine, as would the mandrill and possibly the gorilla.

While that’s cool that the hogs have shared with all those animals, I think PZ will stick with tropical African for enrichment bonus
Even though the llama and a few others don’t share biomes they get enrichment

Today I watched as episode of Our Planet and there were Fossa, I don’t think I have ever seen one , only animated the fossa from Madagascar who come to ruin the lemurs party’s.
They seem bigger then I thought and definitely don’t seem to like each other.
Wikipedia suggest red River hogs can been seen in groups of 10 in the wild.

I've seen my first in Parco Natura Viva, definitely way bigger than I thought. Аnd way more muscular. Here's one from their site, in comparison with car tire:

From what we have seen so far, can anyone tell if the lar gibbon is a reskin?
No, they are not a reskin. Their model had to be adjusted, removed the throath pouch. Their sitting animation is different than those of a siamang, as their have hands on their knees. Also, from this screenshot if you look at those gibbons in the back, running on the vines, it looks they will run with their hands up, unlike the Siamang.

I can also spot at least three color morphs. Combined with the hands up run these guys are going to easily be ny favorite primate in the game.

So, now that the content creator embargo has ended, these are the mixed-species bonuses for each habitat animal:

Lar gibbon - Bonus with Asian small-clawed otter, Bornean orangutan and siamang
Red river hog - Bonus with African buffalo, bongo, bonobo, hippopotamus, mandrill, Nile lechwe, okapi, pygmy hippopotamus, Western chimpanzee and Western lowland gorilla
Asian water monitor and fossa - No interspecies bonuses

Can't say I'm best pleased that the red river hogs get a bonus with the chimpanzees, considering chimps prey on red river hogs in the wild.

Agreed. Also the mandrill bonus. I don't think they eat them like the chimps but mandrill in general are just scary and don't like other animals.
