LostWinds Trouble using the heli-plant/sycamore

I'm playing lostwinds1, and i'm stuck in the crystal mines. I need to use the heliplant to slipstream up to the upper right ledge in order to get the statue, but the heliplant keeps disintegrating just when I reach the bottom part of the ledge. How do I control the heliplant?

im playing lostwinds 2 and im stuck in the bathhouse...i know i should use the heli thing, but i just cant reach the top level....

You are correct in using slipstream, you should use a long curvy line to draw slipstream then when you're almost there draw another line to get you the final distance. You can't use short straight lines as that uses your power too quickly.

Hi, thanks for the advice
I've found that in order to draw a continuous line, i have to keep my finger at the edge of the screen in the direction of where you want to go (on the iphone version), and the heliplant will just follow this route without deviating.
