Trying to change the Dominant Minor Faction

I need some help, as I am trying to make LP 547-159 a Federation system, with Blue Federal Incorporated as the controlling faction.
Currently, Blue Federal Incorporated has 51% influence, as below:

But there is no change in ownership, as no stations are owned by Blue Federal Incorporated, as stated below:

a) Martin Gateway:

b) Weiss Dock:

c) Dedman Port:

Any help on making Blue Federal Incorporated controlling that system would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You need a war. Work for a faction that own a station and when its influence gets close to your faction (5% of difference, i believe), it will trigger a war. Win the war and your faction will own a station.

At least thats the theory. And it may change in the powerplay (not likely).

Good luck! Background simulation is definitely a female...

Are you suggesting doing quests for Alliance of LP 547-159 until they reach 46% or so, thus a civil war is most like to be triggered?

the alternative would be to raise your faction up to 70% influence, which I believe forces a civil war.

There should of been a war at some stage already looking at the influence levels, perhaps they didnt win?

If you kill ships belonging to the controlling faction, the influence will go to the second highest faction.

bounty hunting and claiming bounties will result in influence gains for the current controlling faction.

Related to this - does supporting and raising the influence of the dominant faction in the system have any effect? My understanding was that the intent behind the background sim was that factions could eventually expand into neighbouring systems. But at the moment, this is borked?

They can go into expansion, this was supposed to be my next test, but I havent logged on for ages, I really should get back to it.

I have read that people have had problems with this, well, people have had problems with most of it to be honest, but when I flipped my system it all went smoothly on the first attempt without any hiccups, so it can work.

You need to write a ticket, because nothing in this universe is simulated but actually curated by FD. Something like that perpetum mobile showcase that actually had midget hidden inside moving machine parts. Elaborate scam at best.

recently flipped a system, done missions until faction reached just under 70% influence. civil war started at that point.
Earned combat bonds for my chosen faction in conflict zones as well as doing a few missions.
War ended after 3 days and station was won :D

This is working, though I don't know the exact mechanic for triggering expansion.

Whether this is a mechanic that will stay or not, in the PP Beta, all the factions are prefaced with their originating system name, so, the Sitakapa Empire League is now distinct from the, say, Facece Empire League.

I can verify the expansion mechanic (and subsequent invasion) works too. I flipped a system to the control of a faction which expanded into it (in this case, flipped control of Mac Og for the Sitakapa Empire League), and again, under the new Beta, it lists the controlling faction of Mac Og as "Sitakapa Empire League".

As others have stated though, get your supported faction into 70% influence, this guarantees triggering a war with the faction who owns the "system controlling" station. When you win the war (go fight in the conflict zones for your faction), you gain control of the "most valuable" station; Stations which determine system control are always considered most valuable, so you'll get that, and control of the system.

Just note, the galaxy map won't update, but the system map will. I don't know why, but this needs manual changing. Mac Og, despite being controlled by an Imperial Patronage government (there are now police and criminals are marked as wanted system-wide), the system is listed as an Independent Anarchy still.

EDIT:
Also, the best time to run missions is when your faction has just expanded into a system and still has the "expansion" state. I was conferring a 9% influence change per day on my own when flipping Mac Og.

Actually, that is not true, I did a lot of research before I even tried flipping a system as I didnt want to be wasting my time, there were a lot of bugs previously, probably still are.

The Merc of Mikunn and lugh threads are a worth reading if you want the full history.
