I have the Horizons Season Pass and have been looking around for an engineer. I tried looking for purple icons but came up with nothing and so far I haven't received any invite as far as I know. I have the game for the PS4. If you can please help me in any means necessary.

I do have it as the only filter but no luck D:
Most engineers have a minimum requirement before your CMDR can learn about them. E.g. Felicity Farseer needs you to be exploration level of Scout.
However, there are some that are common knowledge. The Dweller is one of these, though you need to have traded a 5 blackmarkets to meet him, and then give him 500,000 credits before he will deal with you.
So you should know about the Dweller. Try checking in the View Engineers tab on the righthand menu screen.

You can't find them until you're invited. You get invited after you meet their invitaion criteria -see the list mentioned above. Bear in mind that each engineer wants you to jump through another hoop before they'll work with you, so find out what that is and bring whatever they ask before visiting them the first time. That might save a long journey.
- Fit a discovery scanner (advanced is best, but the most expensive at 1.5mcr.)
- Fit a fuel scoop - the best you can afford.
- Search for Maia in the galaxy map. Locate Darnielle's Progress in the system. (You can see a list of the dockable bases in the rightmost tab of the left-hand system map menu.)
- Fly to the system, honking at every star on the way (do this through an amplifier with a decent bass woofer.)
- Dock at Darnielle's Progress and buy one meta-alloy.
- Sell your cartographic data if you haven't reached Scout rank in exploration already. This will trigger an invitation from Felicity Farseer. If you've already got that rank and thus the invite, save the data until you get to Farseer. You can sell it at her base to rank up.
- Set your course for Deciat 6A, Farseer, Inc.
- Unlock farseer with the meta-alloy.
- Engineer your FSD and your power plant.
- Once you hit rank 3, you'll get information about another engineer. Grade 3 dirty drives are great when you first get them on your ship.
- If you have the cash, consider buying some class 3 enhanced performance drives.
Combined with the other public knowledge engineers, it will snowball from there pretty quickly.

Look in Panel 3 for "View Engineers". This will display which engineers if any you are able to visit and if not, what you need to do in order to be invited. o7
