Trying to plot a route is an abysmal task.

I don't know about everyone else but I cant seem to plot a route without having to use a desktop monitor and even then its never easy to select the other UI elements with my mouse. God forbid I go too far into the menus because I have to back out and try it all over again. Am I doing this wrong or do other people have this problem?

Are you using some sort of controller like a joystick or gamepad? It's much easier if you bind everything that way rather than trying to use the mouse. I suppose you could do it with a keyboard too although that might be finicky.

  • Enabled 'Grid Mode' from the last tab within the Galmap
  • Setup the Galmap / Sysmap binds to a HOTAS / Gamepad / Keyboard
  • Forget the mouse, you're using VR now.

You're not alone! Every time I'm forced to go into.....I can't even utter it's name....my testicles tighten :(

Set it up properly then! Issue resolved and no more angst building up due to you using an in-game feature the "hard way" :D

You're assuming I dislike my testicles tightening!!

.....seriously though I have an aversion to long drawn out key binding options (I don't want to go back in there)...it sorta works...I'm leaving it alone!

Its worth while spending the time creating bindings for frequently accessed features which when sorted will make VR immersive and hassle free. I use a PS4 controller with Elite on PC, yes it took me a while to figure out which aspect of the game's features is important to me. The exotic bindings which I infrequently use, or not all, I have delegated to my keyboard.

Manually backup the bindings for hassle free restoration if they're wiped.

Agreed, it's well worh spending the time to setup binds correctly. Particularly if a players binds cause him related discomfort.... :D
