Newcomer / Intro Trying To See If I Can Run This Game

I Want to get this game so bad after seeing youtube videos of it looks amazing just wondering if my computer can run it with decent graphic and if not what would i need to buy...

I have an AMD Radeon HD 7660D
Im Running Windows 8.1
My Computer Has 8.00 GB Of RAM installed and 7.40 Usable it says on my PC info

I honestly dont know how to find my spec correctly but if someone could help i would love to join the community

Full PC specs would be useful!

I can run the game on a laptop with the following specs on low settings at ~20fps in stations and 40-50 in space. I don't do combat on this laptop, as it's just asking for slowdowns and a world of trouble:

CPU:Core i5 quad core @ 2.63GHz
Memory: 4GB DDR3 1333
GPU: Nvidia GTX 425M
Resolution: 1360x768

Setting the supersampling to 0.75 bumps FPS up to 40 in stations and 60 in space, although I still get slowdowns near stars.

I think you will be able to play it at low settings, but that's not a promise!

i appreciate it it but combat is what im looking for most games with pvp i play offensively even at the start i know dumb move but i enjoy it more thanks for the insight would you recommend anything better??

by the way how do you find out your exact specs so i can compare to the requires specs?? ive never been good at this but most games i liked didnt need excellent spec...i would like to run this on max spec but normal would be fine..i just want to compare

What is your CPU?

Maybe you should download CPU-Z which will tell you specifically what components you have.

7660D meaning the IGPU on a AMD A10 5800k for instance? I would guess Low settings probably.. (non dedicated GPU)

But I am not real familiar with those CPU/IGPU combos.

im downloading cpu-z to figure it out thanks appreciate it if anything ill get an upgrade end of week and get the game thanks for the help is there anything else besides the graphics card that i would need to upgrade?

I run ED on a mac Air under win 8.1 (Bootcamp), Not the greatest experience, but good enough for trade and exploration - i wouldn't be getting into combat with it though.

I only use that when I travel, I have a proper gamer PC for ED.

Z...

yea thats why i want to get into combat im a person who is really into pvp i think it makes up most of mmos and what not..im pretty competitive...i know i said decent but it looks like i mean decent for pvp and great for regular traveling...
i have an AMD A10 5700 by the way so low low would be my settings any recommendations on any upgrades...graphics card or anything else?

just goto can you run it and type in elite dangerous

the nice thing about this game is it runs incredibly well and is not at all a system hog

It's a widely used site, but its severely inaccurate because it just uses Min spec listings and compares to what you have. It doesn't give you any real world data.

Unfortunately I myself am not too familiar with those CPU's. I think the CPU itself is probably decent enough but that IGPU is a non dedicated (or built in) GPU which are never too powerful. I think you might could run the game at Low. Again though, this is just a guess.

Are there other games you play that run ok? Comparing to other games might help.

what are you talking about? yes that site uses min specs to see if your PC meets the min specs. thats kind of the point of the site to see if you can run it....hence the name - can you run it

i can run most steam games if not alot of them i have about almost 100 steam games recent and old...never had a problem but cant run them on ultra...also played FF14 a realm reborn with no issues idk if its cause my internet is fast but never really had a lag issue...but didnt do it on ultra had to take shadows and foliage off...like any other game...

freaking awesome lol i pass the minimum but not the required...i guess i do need to upgrade somethin...

dude, if you meet the minium that means your PC will run the game. your video card is old and moldy...u have enough RAM and i assume you have a good enough CPU.

that site also tells you what specs you have - post them

It tells you if a game will run. Anyone can do that on their own looking at min specs. Any gamer will tell you they want to know if it will run and how well, what settings, what framerate..etc. That site doesn't tell you any of that. All it does is tell you if you meet the min specs which is not userful.

Meeting the min specs and playing a game at 10-15 FPS doesn't qualify to most gamers as their PC running said game :)

@OP
I am sure you can run this game and just depending how picky you are and all that, be fine. If you can run FF14 Reborn and are1 happy with the performance..you can probably run ED well enough on Medium settings or something.

it also shows if you have the minimum or recommended specs

i might need a new graphics card but i dont know if only that would make the game run smoother...i have and excess of RAM...7.6 GB of it...and everything else looks good...

you really dont know what you are talking about. the site shows min and required. and its tool for people who dont knwo the min specs or in this case, the OP who doesnt know his specs.
if anyone can do it on their own then why are we discussing it in this thread? die hard gamers can tell, but some people cant and that what that site is for.

Yes, that's all it does. But you wanted to know if you can run it decently enough for PVP..that's a whole different question. I really think you need a dedicated GPU but that's just me :)

please stop...he has a dedicated....you provide some real entertainment

I know what I am talking about. Any serious person knows that site is not actually very useful. No point arguing anyways, I am just trying to help the OP.

Many people relied on that website to decide on a game purchase only to buy something that SHOULD have ran well, but didn't, for various other factors. Like maybe a Ubisoft game that SHOULD run decent, but doesn't because their engines are crap. I have quite a bit of real world experience I was not trying to be rude, but just being honest.

real world experience meaning you dont know what a dedicate GPU is? you are clueless dude. your arguing that the site only tells people if it can run a game, yet thats is sole purpose. its desined to scan your specs and tell you very simply if your PC has the min specs to run a game. it also provides the Devs Recommended specs and tells you if you meet those as well.

when was the last time a dev posted min and recommended specs along with all the extra crap you keep pointing to. stop over complicating things to try and sound smart

How old are you? Seriously?

I dare you to Google "Is Can I run it reliable" and you will not find a single thing saying it is. Also a 6770D is not a dedicated GPU.

I am not trying to sound smart or over complicate anything. He asked about combat, and I would rather give him a real answer about enjoying combat rather than "Yeah you can run it"
You're just being a jerk, for no reason at all, when I am only trying to help him.
