Trying VR before you buy

Just an FYI if you are passing though London Heathrow T3 with some time to kill the Dixons store there have a demo Occulus system (with touch controllers) you can use. I have to admit the feeling of depth and motion was much better than I was expecting, I had no sickness after 10mins use and the FoV wasn't as bad as I though it would be.

I used to have a go on the Oculus at my local computer store. I really liked being inside the game world but it wasnt setup very well. I didn’t know this at that time and It made me feel quite queasy.... for hours afterwards.

Eventually I purchased one in the sale last year and was wondering how that would make me feel. (A potential risky purchase).... But once set up correctly it was a super nice experience with no side effects. So to summarise, shops may not always set up their kit correctly and don’t let that totally influence your decision. Oh yes, there was one side effect.... I have never used my triple screen setup since.

VR sickness is actually more common than it is not. It's normal for most and it's just something your body gets used to. The key is not to keep playing when you start to feel ill as your head will associate VR with being sick and make it even harder. In time your tolerance improves and you can play even longer.

Everyones different, I get motion sickness really bad in a car but in Elite i'm perfectly fine. It depends on the game and the way you move I think.
