tumbling around after interdicting?

hi commanders,
hope, you can help me. and forgive me for asking a question already answered anywhere here in this forum - didn´t found it...

when i interdict a ship and drop out of supercruise, my ship is tumbling and rotating around for several seconds unable to get stabilized. meanwhile the other ship already starts firing at me or running for escape.

what did i do wrong?
too fast, too slow? always trying to match der escape vector when interdicting.

helpful answers are more than wellcome...

cheers from austria/earth

This is a built in feature to give the ship you interdict a chance to escape. You tumble and your FSD will cool down for longer. If they properly submit, only you will tumble. If they lose the interdiction, they'll tumble.
You are not doing anything wrong, it's just the way it's balanced.

The lore reason is, your interdictor is connected to your FSD and it's trying to pull down not only your ship but the other ship as well so it can't control this excess mass properly.

To get stabilised quicker, boost while spinning.

As Lowe said, the boost almost immediately negates the force of the spin by putting lots of thrust in a single direction.
