Tungsten Carbide and Weapon Components

I am having the hardest time locating these, where are they usually found? Any assistance would be nice, since I can't even upgrade to Grade 2 without these, and I have plenty of everything else at this point!

Check out industrial/manufacturing bases for the tungsten carbide.

Weapon components can be found at them, too (in the large command/operations) centers, also at military type bases, and also very regularly at ground POIs called "Irregular Markers"

utilise the bartender for trading materials, both are options (I think)

also manufacturing instructions are very often found at impact sites

Tungsten Carbide you can get at the bartender. Both from settlements. Probably IND / MIL? They are both pretty common

Thanks for the tips, but I thought Weapon SCHEMATICS were the ones easily found at Irregular markers, not components.

I'd like to avoid using the Bartender but for a last resort, as it takes a lot of material dumping to get those two particular things.

Ah crap, I misread. You are correct.
Weapon components I've just found lying around in lockers. No real rhyme or reason to it.

Weapon components Are found very rarely in Security locker or Industrial locker, they can also be found on crate randomly in a settlement that has a Depot/Stockpile usualy there is 1 or 2 in a whole settlement.

Tungsten carbide are rare component that usualy are found in Depot/Stockpile on crate they are way more common than weapon component tho (and cheaper).

for lots of weapons schematics look for regular markers threat 2 (the ones that are three shipping crates) aside from LOTS of drugs, there are usually a lot of weapons schematics and components...

Extraction are also a good source of tungsten carbide.

Key thing is, don't search generic lockers and containers... only search themed ones e.g "security locker" or "research locker".

Just trade for them. It's what makes the Expanded backpack for the Maverick so valueable, load it up with goodies and dump it at the bartender.

I usually collect memory chips, encrypted memory chips and optical lenses for trade into the more rare tech components. When I happen to find some of the rare ones, that's just a bonus but nothing I would grind for.

I do the same, it doesnt take many visits to settlements to loot restore power to be able to buy the mats to get enough to upgrade a weapon to G2 or 3. G4 and 5 will take a little longer as the requirement rise.

Also you need to trade up as the 1000 mats limit is so easily reached.

Has anyone ever found any weapon components in a base? I can find everything else and am searching military/industrial etc... and using all of the tips above. The grind for Tungsten and Weapon components is very VERY real :'(

Yup, have found a bunch, even at tourism bases. They're usually in the Powerplant/Command areas, in the flavoured lockers.

Weapon components are small, shaped like a pen and easily missed. I've been back into buildings before when my SRV indicated weapon components were in there, only to eventually find one on a case or a shelf in a dark corner.
