Well, considering that the entire landing pad moves, they really didn't have a choice tbh.Stuff like this just makes me shake my head. How did it pass review? "Let's put the elevators obnoxiously far from the doors on big ships, it's funny."
The elevators are teleporters, they can put them anywhere in the hangar they want instead of making me have to walk the entire length of my corvette.Well, considering that the entire landing pad moves, they really didn't have a choice tbh.
Do you want it to be just a teleporter? Another blue circle in the middle of the pad for you to walk up to and hit a button then a fade to black? Because that's basically what you're asking for.The elevators are teleporters, they can put them anywhere in the hangar they want instead of making me have to walk the entire length of my corvette.
What are you talking about? All I said was the walk is too long. I agreed with the original poster — put a freaking conveyor belt or something, like every US airport since the 1980s. Frankly, I don't care what the solution is. Hell, a blue teleporty circle is a nice shortcut for someone who wants to skip the walk, since you've suggested it.Do you want it to be just a teleporter? Yes, the walk (especially on large landing pads) can be laborious but its one of the last bits of gameplay that actually gives immersion.
Really? Because judging by your previous post, quote, "The elevators are teleporters, they can put them anywhere in the hanger," , forgive me for thinking that you're looking for a teleporter instead of a travelator. What are you talking about? I never said it was good gameplay but I did say that it is certainly very realistic which does play a part in providing immersion, for better or for worse. You cannot deny that. In real life you would certainly have to walk off the landing pad to reach the lobby, is it a good thing for a game? No. But is it realistic? Very!I don't even know how to respond to that second part. "Walking in a straight line for a minute is among the greatest gameplay bits in the game" — ED fanboy Stockholm Syndrome gone critical.
I was thinking about that too. It's still two un-needed loading screens, there should just be an option to disembark to concourse.Heathrow has them, so can the Star Port have a travelator in the ship bay area? It could be a magnetic boot mover where the moving mechanisms are under the floor plate
