Turbo Lift? Turbo Travelator!

Heathrow has them, so can the Star Port have a travelator in the ship bay area? It could be a magnetic boot mover where the moving mechanisms are under the floor plate

Stuff like this just makes me shake my head. How did it pass review? "Let's put the elevators obnoxiously far from the doors on big ships, it's funny."

Could be pretty neat. I know X4 has these in some of the larger docking bays for this exact reason. +1

Edit:

Didn't Star Citizen introduce a golf cart thing pretty much for driving around the hangars because everything was so big?

Maybe we should be able to deploy SRVs in the hangar bay... :ROFLMAO:

Well, considering that the entire landing pad moves, they really didn't have a choice tbh.

Oh, people already bored with all the god damn running?

I'm using exclusively small ships and i still think that sometimes is just too much running.
I dont even think to try a large ship :D

Just give me the on-foot mission accessible from the ship, and yes... implement the teleport to concourse

The elevators are teleporters, they can put them anywhere in the hangar they want instead of making me have to walk the entire length of my corvette.
Do you want it to be just a teleporter? Another blue circle in the middle of the pad for you to walk up to and hit a button then a fade to black? Because that's basically what you're asking for.

Yes, the walk (especially on large landing pads) can be laborious but its one of the last bits of gameplay that actually gives immersion.

What are you talking about? All I said was the walk is too long. I agreed with the original poster — put a freaking conveyor belt or something, like every US airport since the 1980s. Frankly, I don't care what the solution is. Hell, a blue teleporty circle is a nice shortcut for someone who wants to skip the walk, since you've suggested it.

I don't even know how to respond to that second part. "Walking in a straight line for a minute is among the greatest gameplay bits in the game" — ED fanboy Stockholm Syndrome gone critical.

Really? Because judging by your previous post, quote, "The elevators are teleporters, they can put them anywhere in the hanger," , forgive me for thinking that you're looking for a teleporter instead of a travelator.

I never said it was good gameplay but I did say that it is certainly very realistic which does play a part in providing immersion, for better or for worse. You cannot deny that. In real life you would certainly have to walk off the landing pad to reach the lobby, is it a good thing for a game? No. But is it realistic? Very!

Look, I never want to sound hostile but you're making it awfully difficult with contradicting statements.

Regardless, good day. :)

I was thinking about that too. It's still two un-needed loading screens, there should just be an option to disembark to concourse.

By all means, show us the hangar the first time we get a ship, and on special occasions, and when we WANT to go to the hangar! But- DISEMBARK TO CONCOURSE.

Immediately got two there, when I exited the game in disgust after the mission board refused to give covert heist/theft, but the game requires them to progress.

That and being sick of the repetitive hangar stroll. I keep getting missions to identical settlements where I do the same exact thing, but at least there's gameplay and different pathing there.
