Turret AI STILL needs one small tweak. Annoying!

I have taken a two year break from the game (and another one before that), and I am sad to see one major oversight in terms of turret AI still not being fixed.
The mode AIM ONLY actually would be very handy for many builds. However, it works as following:

1. You select a target > 2.Turrets aim at it > 3.As you press fire, turrets will infinitely keep shooting until the target is destroyed.

This essentially turns your turrets into a frenzy you can't get them out of (unless by deselecting, which also resets orientation, and is frankly idiotic as a combat measure).

How it should work:

1. You select a target > 2. Turrets aim at it > 3. Press fire once to let the turrets engage at will > 4. Press fire one more time to cease fire (Return to step 2)

(Completely manually firing only when you press (and hold) fire would also be an option, but less comfortable in my opinion.

This would enable players to easily manage their turrets, e.g. cease fire on energy overdraw or chaffing enemies, not creating needless energy or firing valuable ammo into the void.

Every time I tried turrets in E:D this immediately fell into my eye. It should be fixable with an hour of work tops. Frankly I am very irritated that this has not been fixed after all these years.

I think the same and add the mode of "fire at discretion" a way to open fire, since in this mode if you carry all turrets (eg type-10) does nothing, you need a "detonator" to start firing, That's why I use the slf as a "detonator", but one thing I tell you, thanks to this way you can have multiobjective, you don't know the pleasure of seeing the type-10 attack 2 anacondas at once.

But for fedv it's a lot of work and if they did, they would break the game even more
