Turret drift annoyance

Ok I'm sorry but I have to complain about this, the amount of drift of turret weapons now for slower bigger ships is just too much.

I just got interdicted by a deadly rated npc and it felt like my turret beam lasers were only making actual contact about 30% of the time.
They overdid it on their drift imho. It seems to be worst on npcs rated deadly or elite, that somehow their level of skill seems to make my turrets behave worse!

With beams you say? I noticed it was way way worse with C3 pulse turrets so i went back to C3 beam turrets and it's much better. I know one of the changes to turrets was supposed to make it so it's much harder to hit smaller ships with them or something but i don't have that issue with C3 beam turrets. Only C3 pulse and burst turrets have that issue where after about 5 seconds they start trailing behind the target and it becomes incredibly frustrating.

Oh, behave, baby! Yeah!

I think I will wait on those turrets a little longer then. Thanks for the heads up.

wow, the pulse version must be really bad then. Currently my Python has 3x multicanon, a C3 beam and a C2 beam laser, all turreted. Gonna have to rethink the all-turret setup now and go back to one or two gimballed or fixed I think, which will suck with the Pythons turning circle. I got spoiled flying the Vulture for so long, but the Vulture does not a good trading multi-role ship make.

Turrets still suck, granted they are a million times better than they were but you are still better off using gimballed or fixed.
the damage penalty is enough frontier, they don't need to miss half the time too.

Small / Medium ship should stick with fixed beams as long as you can handle them ( skill, manoeuvrability.... ) since them hit straight to the target from 3 Km. Gimbal and turret miss a lot if you are not 1.5 Km or less than 1 Km away from the target.

And yes, i fitted my conda with some turrets with 1.3, i must say it's not that good :
Target is far : it misses target and decrease damage ( nerfed damage i mean ), and when you a close enough the target should use chaft and here you go : useless again.

Fixed weaps are powerfull, accurate and of course immune to chaft. So..... basically you do more damage with Vulture / Fer de Lance than Anaconda, just because of the hardpoint placement / manoeuvrability !!!

I could say i'm glad of my fire power on conda because of Class 3 hardpoints, but i'm not because considering the placement of these hardpoint i need to use turrets.

This seems strange to me. If ED hate turrets so much, why have them at all. They are nerfed so much now they are next to useless. If they want dog fight only, be honest and remove turrets.

1.3.05 Turrets targeting still really bad.

Its ok if the enemy ship is within very close range, but anything beyond 1K and the turret beam lasers are just firing around the sides of the ship. Doesn't even matter if you've target a specific system, could be a power plant situated dead center, they just won't connect.

This plus the super high normal repair costs right now make combat in anything like a Python using turrets a real pain. And you need turrets with a slow heavy turning ship like a Python.
