turret question

how do i switch from "forward fire" to other modes? i cant seem to change it no matter what i do
i tried hitting space , i tried seeing if there was some turret option control key or something. ive tried googling it with no luck so im coming to you guys lol

right so i go to function move the highlight down to "turret mode" and hit space right?

Well if you do indeed have turrets on your hardpoints then it does seem to be bugged. Do you have a short vid illustrating the problem?

And space is definitely bound to select menu option, right? Because that should be working, even if you don't have turrets installed. Any weird hardware setups or anything contradictory bound to space? You'd probably want to lodge a ticket.

oh yes every other option is working like "lights" and "landing gear" but when i select "turret mode" nothing happens. almost like the "factions" option when not in a conflict zone.
i am flying a anaconda in case that makes a difference

Without turrets it can not be changed from Forward Fire. With turrets installed, it changes from Forward Fire to Fire at Will automatically, you actually need to go into the menu and change it to Target Only and Forward Fire if you don't want it to be Fire at Will.

OP are you sure you got turrets? I got a feeling you actually got gimballed. Or are you talking about Point Defense Turrets? Those go no settings and just fire automatically.

i didnt know they were more than one type of turret, here is a pic im not sure the difference between them since ive only seen one type of "point defense". and im not a fighter but a trader lol

Point Defence isn't a weapon per se...haha
You can't control PDT's, they fire automatically at incoming missiles.

Well those are missile defense system, think CIWS. There are also turreted weapons, those are the ones that can have settings changed via the menu.

No, they aren't a weapon.
It's a defence system.

They shoot at incoming missiles.

Equip Turrets in your hardpoint, they fire at enemies.
But they are quite a lot more expensive.

I had this same problem. Stupidly they are called turreted though.

The thing is I've heard people getting blown up in stations by their defence systems firing and the fix was to change your turrets to highlighted only. So what that about?

Why? It's a turret.
But what should have caught your eye, is that they aren't mounted in weapon hardpoints, but utility slots

though i do find it weird they dont fire at enemies surely they would do some damage though, but oh well.
