Newcomer / Intro Turret Weapon Mode - Fire At Will

i dont really remember but they will auto engage people that you start engaging i believe...might engage before you pill the trigger but i doubt it,just remember alot of people accidentally shoot wrong targets because those auto turrets shoot good people that are simply got in a way and after that you got a ton of trouble and bounty for attacking innocent

Greetings Commander!

You're safe, dont worry. Turrets will only fire at wanted targets firing on you. They wont go shooting randomly at other targets.

Try it and cross your fingers. The "Fire At Target" option CAN fire at Hostile Wing members that you have not yet scanned, without you pressing the fire button, and give you a FF Wanted Status.
It can also give you the FF Wanted Status if an innocent ship runs into your line of fire.

However, that is not saying that "Fire at Will" has the same issues. I currently have mine on Fire At Will, but I am not initiating combat, these situations rarely occur when you are interdicted.

They only engage now when you pull the trigger in "Fire at Target" mode.

They will not stop shooting until your target is dead. And if you switch targets before your first is dead, they will continue shooting at the new target. IN MY EXPERIENCE RIGHT NOW THIS ALSO INCLUDES FRIENDLY TARGETS. To get them to stop shooting, bind your turrets in a fire group, then create a second fire group that has just your non-turret weapons. If you switch fire groups, your turrets will disengage until you switch back to your turret group and manually activate them once again by pressing the trigger. As far as I know, this is the only way right now to manually stop them from shooting.
