Turrets broken?

Whats happened with turrets? they're set to target only - have a target in sights, firing primiary and turrets aren't doing anything now.

Whats supposed to happen in 1.3 ?

you didn't bother reading the changelog did you?

turret behavior requires them to be on the active firegroup to fire.

edit: IE, give them a trigger in the active firegroup (they wont manually fire unless you're in forward only).. their placement however controls whether they fire at all or not. This was a fix to handle turrets firing on hostile ships when you dont want them to without having to stow hardpoints.

ok, just been fiddling about. If I add my turrets to the same fire group where I have to fire then they kick in.

so fire group 1 has 2 gimbled lasers as before and now I've had to add the 3 turrets in so they kick in when I fire off the gimbs... so basically all 5 weapons on the same fire group.

Add that turrets can fire below horizon I now get 5 lasers firing at once !!!!! and and extra couple of !!!!!! for effect.

so basically turrets are tied into you firing to get them going as opposed to letting them do their own thing.

they will fire depending on the mode automatically, they just need to be tied to an active firegroup as i mentioned originally. If it's not on forward fire, you having it set to trigger 1 and pushing that button wont cause them to fire. They'll fire according to the mode they're in.

If you have fire at my target, you have to at least fire once at the target before they will start firing. If you switch to a firegroup where no trigger is assigned to the turret, it wont fire.

If you have it set to fire at will I believe it waits until your ship is fired upon before shooting an enemy. I forget though as I always use fire at my target mode.
