Turrets Less Accurate???

Good Morning CMDRs

Since updating to 1.3.07 has anyone else noticed their turrets becoming less accurate?

I have 8A sensors on my Anaconda which seemed to keep my turrets more or less on target, even when fighting nippy wee buggers like eagles and vipers. Since last night I have noticed that although my turrets look like they are pointing at the target they sometimes (maybe just slightly less than 50% of the time) fire off in the wrong direction. I wondered if it was just a graphical thing and the hits were still going in but I checked and it looks as though that is not the case.

I have not put a ticket in re this as it may just be that the turrets have been nerfed... :(

Has anyone else noticed any changes in their turrets accuracy or is it just me???

I have generally had very poor performance from the turrets under the Anaconda. Specifically they seem to get in a cycle of firing in a precise offset spot from the target. Bug somewhere imo. Understand inaccuracy....but that should show as wandering.

Better sensors do not really improve targetting of turrets or gimballed, they simply enable you to lock on to the target sooner. Might as well use 8D sensors.

Turrets do also not "wobble" like gimballed but they indeed "trail behind the target". This is mentioned in the powerplay update changelog here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=151945

Rather than Wobbling when the gun gets confused, turrets now tend to lag behind their target instead.

If your turrets do this a lot i'd say your target is a) close range and b) maneuvering hard.

When firing at a moving target turrets confusion is affected by distance so that turrets are more easily confused by sharp manoeuvres at short range than long
Confusion is based on the acceleration of the target in both absolute space and relative to the firer

That certainly identifies the behaviour. I think they have the turret ai turned down a little too far though as I see it regularly in simple stern chase situations at good sub 1k ranges.

Which is a shame, having sensors playing a greater role in the whole turret / gimbaled / ecm / chaff picture would enrich combat
and outfitting options. E.g. chaff totally countering both turret and gimbaled, irrelevant the fact that an anaconda can have 100 tons
of sensors is hum... silly ?
