Turrets still bugged? Or is it just me?

I have tried to report this in the "bugs" section but it insists there are no versions of the game greater than 1.3.7, so I don't trust that reporting line at all.

Here's my experience........

PC Version & Release 1.4.


While farming a RES (any flavour) all of my turreted weapons magically "forget" that they are set to "Target Only" mode and just cease firing altogether, which can be a bit unnerving while in serious combat.
The result is that both my Multicannon's AND my D3 Beam Laser Turrets cease altogether and this leave me with just the C3 Beam Laser in operation.
To clear this annoying & persistent bug I have to set them to "Fire At Will" (Poor Will) and then they immediately start firing again. Thereafter I can set them back to "Target Only".

This isn't the first time Turrets have been "buggy" and I thought FD had addressed the "Turret Issues", but apparently not.

As it is so easily replicated, I would have expected FD QA to catch it to be honest!
 
I have only just started using turrets on the under carriage of my Clipper, they are set to 'Target Only' and so far I've had no issue whatsoever (Obviously I have to have the target in the turrets line of sight)
 
If you switch firegroups the turrets will stop until you pull one of the triggers.

I had the opposite problem with turrets. I set them to fire at will but they would only ever retaliate. Which is fine in itself because except I couldn't override them because pulling the trigger would not initiate firing so I'd be sat there staring down a wanted ship waiting for him to attack. I just switched back to target only and gave up with fire at will.

Having said that I tried fire at will with an all-turret build so maybe they would work properly if I had another weapon group to fire. Target only always worked regardless of build.
 
I ran into that bug once, but have not managed to reproduce it. (So I haven't reported it)

Changing between fire groups did not help.
I can't recall which of these ways got them working again, but they worked after I tried both;
• Go into right panel, functions tab and cycle through the fire modes
• Manually turn off and on the turrets in modules tab​
