Turtle Beach Velocity One Flight Stick

I just got this flight stick and I need help setting up the bindings if someone could please help me if they too have this flight stick on what bindings work for them so I can get somewhat started.

I don't know this joystick, but maybe you find a somewhat similar device on EdRefCard, which features a lot of different keybinds by various CMDRs.
You can see the devices by clicking on the name and the key bindings by clicking on the magnifying lens.

That won't be of any help because I don't see it there. I checked yesterday and that is one of the reasons I sought help on here.

Well you can see control assignment choices that people have selected on comparable sticks and use that to give you an idea of what to assign to what.

Of course if what you really want is for someone to do the work for you then maybe you are fresh out of luck.

EDIT: Well I'll take that back, sorry. A friend in the flight sim world has the Turtle Beach yoke thingie and he pointed out that there is rather a lot going on with that so I checked the Flight Stick and yes I can see what people are up against. What a lot of options, controls, menus, displays and lord alone knows what else! I can see why they have not tried to shoe-horn the stick into EDRefCard.

Good luck getting your head around all the options. (y)

Yes, I know. That's why I wrote "maybe you find a somewhat similar device".

Now, having read a bit more about your flight stick, I can understand why it might be a bit more complicated to set up. I don't know anything about the config software that probably accompanies this stick, but let's cover some general basics:
  • Pitch, roll, yaw should be self-evident.
  • Put functions on the base of the stick that you either don't need very often and/or don't need super fast: landing gear, cargo scoop, game menu, FSS, both maps etc.
  • I would put PIP management on the H1 hat: SYS, ENG, WEP, RST
  • ... and targeting on the H2 hat: target ahead, next target, highest threat (it depends on your playing style and on the config software, of course)
  • B16 and B17 may be good for cockpit mode, fire groups, flight assist
  • The thumb wheel between B16 and B17 could be used for fire groups as well, or for sensor zoom, or for thrusters (up/down, or if you're adventurous: forward/backward)
  • The little touchpad seems to be perfect for headlook
  • If you're right handed, put the throttle on the left lever; if you're left handed, put the throttle on the right lever
You most definitely want to use one or two of the base buttons as modifier button(s). For example, if B4 is the modifier button:
  • press B4 alone = nothing happens, as nothing is bound to B4 alone
  • press B16 = bound to "next fire group"
  • hold B4 and press B16 = bound to "previous fire group"
There's still a lot missing, but without any knowledge about the config software and the stick itself, that's about it from me.

I bought the same stick (which is great - much better than the X56 stick it replaced), but had to manually configure the bindings. Takes a while, but I'd recommend it as you can set things up as you like and experiment (e.g. the mini-throttles look to be ideal for zoom in the FSS - in practice they are not :) ).
