Tutorial: Elite in VR Using a Mobile and Riftcat

As I just ordered an Oculus Go, hoping I can get it to work with Elite at some point, I thought I'd check out the latest software to get desktop VR working on a mobile. I am using an older LG G3 phone which certainly isn't flagship at the moment so the results were less than spectacular. That said I figured I'd create a quite tutorial out of it for others - that way players can at least try out VR in a simple way to see what they think before taking the plunge (which many on this board know they should)

Curious if anyone actually uses this on a daily basis or not.

I used it about a year or two ago using a Galaxy NOTE 5, but had problems with the head movement precision and the resolution (as you noted in the video). So I bought an Oculus CV1, and was the best purchase I ever did!.

Yeah, there really is no comparison, I just thought it would be fun to play with and figured I'd get a video out if it while I was at it.

I am curious to see how things are with the Oculus Go - I'll post up a review in a few days.

I saw your guide on the newsletter and gave it a go. It works! Might be cheap and cheerful but I still love the depth that my lovely monitor can't provide. Thanks CMDR o7!

@Exigeous, How did it go with The Oculus Go? My wife just got me one as a starter to VR, and we're loving playing with the games that come with it, but I don't see elite in the store, and I'm not sure how I'd hook it up to the computer (just the USB cable?)...

Don´t waste your time with cheap solutions, you obtain that you pay. I mean, a bad experience and a lot of sickness

If you want vr, buy a pc hmd.
