In some rather epic dogfighting last night. Shields went down and hull took a beating.
Panels started shorting out and crackling. Smoke billowing out everywhere.

I COULD SMELL THE SMOKE.

Made me turn the game off and have a good nose about, even though I was 95% sure my brain had lied to me.

The ED DK2 experience is truly epic. And that comes from a rather old and definitely jaded gamer.

One time I was playing Half Life 2 I was fighting the striders with a bunch of soldiers jostling beside me. I could swear I felt one of the soldiers brush up against my shoulder. I pulled the DK2 off my head as quick as possible and left VR gaming until I felt a little less scared.

I got a little more used to the VR experience. I figured out what happened. That thing I felt brush against my shoulder was the umbilical cord for the helmet. <blush>

Every time I drop into a system with a tiny star (neutrons) I get a panicked feeling in my stomach because the scientist in me knows exactly how dangerous those stars really are haha.. Especially when you see how tiny it is, then you see the gravitational field lines show up on the HUD.. Gives me the shivers every time.
