Two different USS radar signatures. Are there more? What is meaning?

I see a USS, I aim at it and the radar shows 'rocks'.
Another USS I aim at it and the radar shows a sphere.

Any idea what the difference is?
Why is one rocky and the other one a sphere?

I checked em both out, both were wrecks with cargo floating around.
The rocky one had 'military plans'.
The sphere had 'clothing.

Seeing as there are missions to get stolen military plans, might the rocky signature be a hint?

That's just what you are closest too, USSs don't have any particular pattern to them other than what transactions you have dictating what is inside them.

Hmm... they were like really really close to eachother...
Dunno why one would be 'sun' and other one would be 'asteroid' ...

Ok after some more testing that seems indeed to be the case.
It just shows what is 'nearest'.
Too bad otherwise chasing those canisters for missions would be a lot easier :)
