Two new CG's

Did anyone notice the two new CG's that were issued today? Imperial Navy is wanting/needing battle weapons, Federal Navy is wanting/needing battle weapons. Both on the same day, same time. This is just when 3 expeditions are being launched, two of them smaller ones and one very large one that will take a sizable group of experienced commanders out of the bubble for a while. For those of us staying behind.... ummm, should we be worried? Is a war pending between the two super powers? Do they know of an impending large Thargoid incursion? Seems as though the future might not be as rosy as looking thru rose colored glasses. I'm gonna start building my heavy fighter very soon. Hopefully I won't need it but I'll sleep better knowing I have it.

Hopefully everything starts going nuts.

Hopefully you already have your bomb shelter ready and stocked with plenty of supplies... just sayin'

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who raised an eyebrow at all of this.

it could all be tinfoil hat, but even if so it's not bat---- crazy

I hope so! Goids interdicting everywhere, Empire in Civil War, Federation in uncivil war, Alliance profiteering off the bloodshed and suffering.

Sounds great, I'm in.[yesnod]

Don't ask me to fight the Thargoids.

Make me fight the Thargoids.

Nothing wrong with being prepared...

Just from Galnet, I'd assume that Empire is getting ready for a possible civil war (Nova Imperium) related, and Federation is ramping up as they're scared that Nova Imperium gains traction and threatened to intervene should this potentially lead to a drop in imperial commitment to the Thargoid wars. Who knows whether that's just a public excuse, but either way seems reasonable to lead to some ramp up in military strength.

Never mind that in-game neither of them or the rebellion in the Empire or even Thargoids are the greatest threats to either Empire or Federation, but instead Independents.

I don't see the Independents as a threat to anyone since they/we don't fly with a unified flag. I think most Independents just want to keep a safe distance from the mayhem.

Actually the thrid goal was just elapsed:
"Independant union of war observers asks CMDRs to prepare the stockpile
for the inevitable war between Federation and Empire.
CMDRs willing to contribute are asked to deliver Beer, luxury foods
and popcorn to Ram Tah in Meene, who has just finished his work
on the guardian Micro Wave cooking device."

Also Radio Sidewinder might be looking for computer parts
and consumer electronics for public viewing.

The Empire does not have a problem with independents.

We have a problem with broken FDEV PP mechanics forcing our largest Imperial power to promote independents over Imperial factions to lower their fort triggers. In every. Single. Sphere.

Hudson has the same problem really. ALD and Winters caught a lucky break.

Yeah, you'd think they'd have done it a little differently.

Ram Tah says that alternatively you can drop the goods off at his new base in Colonia.
