two question about backers rewards

HI,

Im just looking at the various levels of rewards and had a couple of questions.

1 - It says my name will be added to the NPC Database, I'm assuming this is my real name, I would actually prefer my real name not to be used. does anyone know anything more about how this works?

(I assume I could just setup another account, but just thought I would check before I make a payment using it)

2 - where it says about you being able to start as a trader , pirate etc.

Are these starts just for the beta?, or forever? , if forever, will these start options ever be available for someone who buys the game after release?

You'll be given access to the backer's app when you register, where you can type in a commander name and an NPC name of your choosing. There's no requirement for this to be your name (or even to look like an Earth name).

So far as we know, these are forever. We haven't heard anything about being able to buy them after the release, but if it's possible I'd expect it to cost at least as much as now.

In answer to the second question, these are options you'll have whenever you start a new character. People who buy the game at retail will only have the option of starting in a sidewinder. However, those pledge rewards give you different options. So you might have one character being an explorer that starts with a long range Cobra, and another character starting as an imperial bounty hunter with an upgraded Eagle. These will all be modifications that you can make to your ship later, but will be a bit of help getting you started in whatever you want to do first: exploring, pirating, trading etc.
