I've been a PC player for around 2 weeks which I guess qualifies me for the noob title.
I've put together a couple of sandboxes and took a stab at a challenge park. My latest effort is a sandbox park named Two Seas. There are so many pix of really great stuff I'm a little nervous about posting here so please be gentle with me.
First an aerial view of the Two Seas park:
Two Seas has four custom coasters (plus a tube water ride), a train that encircles the park with five stations, and a bunch of flat rides. I got into custom structure building and I'm slowly adding these. There are three "canned" coasters which I anticipate will get replaced at some point in the future. Current guest count is around 6000.
The three biggest custom coasters are (from gentlest to wildest):
Dark Star - a coaster located in a cavern - its got moderate excitement and fear but a low nausea rating making it kid friendly. It's located under the mountain beyond the central white coaster.
Ayumi Mountain on the mountain just to the right of the large wheel (on the left). This one has bit of upside down to it.
Castle Arches - the white coaster on the far right. It's built around a bunch of natural arches and big mushroom formations. It hits 97 mph on its initial drop and has a nausea rating of 4.2 making it not for the faint of heart. This one usually doesn't have much of a queue. There are castles at its entrance and atop the initial lift.
Dark Star - descending into it's cavern is said to transport one to an alien world filled with stalactites/stalagmites and strange (and ferocious) creatures. Lots of lighting was needed because without g-forces a virtual rider needs to see the track to appreciate the "coasterism" present. I'll be working on adding triggers and more special effects to this coaster.
Ayumi Mountain was my first attempt a custom coaster. It's also my first attempt at sculpting terrain as well as trying to add interesting scenery up front and personal to the coaster's riders. The lift is much steeper than it should be, but hey, I'm not going to fix it now... Max speed is around 80 mph. I spent a lot of time with the track tuner trying to get the ride smoother.
Castle Arches took my newfound interest in extreme terrain sculpture further than ever with the construction of huge nature arches and mushrooms. This is a dangling coaster and when one leaves the castle at the top of the lift, the depth of the chasm below is unsettling. Judging from the vomit on the exit queue maybe I should rename this the Barfinator. I should probably drop it. It runs a loss each month because it's too intense for most riders but I like to zip around through all the weird terrain and with forces my cookies stay where they should - in my tummy.
Here's close up of the track wrapping around the largest of the "mushrooms"
I guess that's it for now. I'm working on getting some youtube videos together but they probably won't be up for a couple of days.
Thanks for checking it out!
TQ
