Hey guys and gals. Only been a CMDR for a few days but I am loving it. Two small issues keep bugging me though, and I am not sure if they are intentional or not. I'd imagine not but maybe I am simply unable to conjure up a scenario when they would be useful.
Anyway, number one is that I have left trigger (dual joysticks by the way) set as fire secondary, and also as "back" for the purposes of UI navigation. When my wepaons are deployed and I hit the trigger to revert back from a window, doing so also fires the secondary grouping for that fire group. I have my Space Shotguns™ on secondary so always waste a shot leaving the ship UI, assuming I have just been in a fight or what not and haven't yet retracted my hardpoints. This does not happen when doing so merely reverts you back a step; it only fires when the UI would be closed from the command, making me think this is a bug. Maybe some crossed code or something. I'm no programmer.
Secondly, and far more infuriating, is that after using FA off, when I turn it back on my throttle is set to whatever speed I was going. More than once this has resulted in me flying straight in to the back wall of a dock after a whateverhisnameis maneuvre in order to bypass scans from the fuzz. This might be intentional, like I said I may simply be unable to think of when you would want this, but it seems unintuitive; if I wanted to be doing that my throttle would be set as such, regardless of the FA setting. When I turn on FA I am turning it on to stabalise myself. I've also crashed (non-fatally) a couple of times from using FA off to orient myself for landing on those stations that look like the ISS or MIR; landing pad needs me to do a 180 and flip upside down, so why not do it while making my way there? Except once I hit FA off it sets my throttle as such to keep me going backwards (my orientation and vector while FA was off). Who would want this?
