Two Suggestions

1. What would you guys think about the ability to add ship parts as commodities? Allow the buy/sell of them from stations, sell them to other stations that don't have them, after a certain cap is reached they will be available in Outfitting for a short time, possibly at a higher rate, with maybe a Galnet news announcement about what parts are now available for X amount of time. Of course this would be limited to only stations and outposts that have Outfitting available.

2. This is for explorers, what would you think about having a "skybox" scanner that lets you select stars and systems in the background that may look interesting to you and gives you the option to plot a route?

These are some ideas I had while playing yesterday, want to know what you all think.

I posted it again here for the Devs to hopefully see, I put the other one in Discussion to see what the community thought and if they could add onto it which I would edit in here, not meaning to spam :(

I like the first one. I really don't think there's enough ways for the players to influence stations in general.

As for the second one, I want to say that's just not how the sky generator works.

I think that the first one has a point, but I think it should be done like...

If people are buying lot of equipment from system A, it should have huge demand for commodity A/B/C/D. This demand line should go down to the mining level in the end.
If lot of insurances are paid in system A -> Demand values would change.
If there is a war in system A, it should affect also to the systems around it. High demand values for certain commodities. High tech systems get deals from factions and start to manufacture ships/weapons/etc -> High demand for materials.

So I would add this to the background simulator. I actually would prioritize this. Right now different events are like in a bubble that affects to nothing else in the world.

If the list of items grows longer because of this ... frontier will need to make a filter system so we could filter the things that we want

to see and not those which we are not interested in.

As for the Explorer, they will need more things to do that scan, rinse and repeat ... it's boring lets face it. Some of them are suggesting

having pet cats on board to keep them company, this maddness ... look you get the point exploration at the moment is boring.

Not fussed about the second suggestion, but I like the first idea - a number of players have complained about being able to buy ships which then can't go anywhere, because they can't also buy the FSD needed to move them. This would solve that problem - and give us something else to trade with into the bargain. :)

Agreed , I'm also trying to plan out an idea involving Rares/or luxuries randomly rotate from star systems on a weekly or monthly basis and having "secret stations that will buy at a higher rate than the rest with some sort of clue as to where one or more might be)
