Newcomer / Intro Two things... one that I just don't get. Empire space ia the other

Where is Empire space (in relation to Brani)? I'm thinking of making my next ship an Imperial Clipper, but I have no idea where to go to grind missions and standing.

The other thing is: why does it seem that you have to run a bunch of low credit missions for a faction you're friendly (and allied) with before they start offering the 100k missions again? I like to mix my trade up with missions if I can, but the 7k credit missions are more annoying than they're worth, especially when you have a trade run that gets you 80k at every stop! Why don't you start with better mission like when you logged off if you're allied?

FYI, current ship is an ASP worth about 40 milion that I mostly trade with , because there's only so much aimless "exploring" I can handle and trading is something I can do that I don't actually find tedious. The odd interdiction helps with that.

And I could stick with the Asp, I suppose, but there isn't much point in grinding for credits just for the sake of credits... I prefer to have some purpose in what I'm grinding for.

I remember from Frontier Elite 2 that to get military missions you had to do charity missions regularly to gain enough rep. Maybe same in ED also with other factions?

I'm a bit confused about this talk about Empire space, because there seems to be Empire systems all around the inhabited space.

Roughly speaking you'll find Empire space if you go "down" in the galaxy map, provided it's in default orientation (after opening) and you are not too far outside of civilized space. Look out for the "Achenar" region.

Heh... where I am now, empire systems do not show up on any level. Must be too high, and too far out. Lave, for example, is 175 ly away, most of it down towards galactic center. Suppose I'll have to go exploring again to find a system to develop... Achenar is a looooong way away, but I'll go look. Nice thing about an A drive fitted Asp is that you have some legs.
