two ticks within one hour?

today we noticed to different influences within one of our system here at Colonia. Strange was: as even Ian Doncasters Site cites our faction at 55,3% at Hamlets Harmony, which was verified ingame in the system, nearly 15 minutes later, the system showes 52,7%, so two different results within one tick?

anyone noticed?

The tick has two phases - a "state tick" to update the states, and an "influence tick" to update the influence levels. But nowadays because of things like Public Holiday and Infrastructure Failure, the "state tick" can also change the influence levels, so if you view a system while the tick is going on, you can end up seeing the intermediate result.

The census site doesn't automatically replace in this case, just in case there's something odd going on, so I end up cleaning up one or two of these most days.

Hi All! I wonder if anyone has been paying attention? With active participation in BGS by real CMDRs, tics of influence happen more often than once a day. Moreover, in conflicts, the status update still happens once a day.
I think it's very good.

Ill have some of what you are smoking if you think waiting 6 hours for tick results to be available is "very good"

Oh, yes. I've noticed that in some systems ingame information may be a bit (like 5-6, sometimes 12 hours) late. So system menu shows one influence and bgs status and squadron allegiance menu and minor fraction news show different (which is usually more correct). So it is very hard to understand what is really going on with bgs.

Those screenshots were made at the same time. Note different influence and bgs status.

What is even worse, we've made some experiments trying to fly through those systems with a large group of players at the same time and some of them had "old" influence in system menu and some -- "new". All at the same time. And as you understand that different information was uploaded to sites like Inara or EliteBGS, confusing them.

We've even made ticket about that, becasue the situation really affects the bgs part of the game.

I meant this process:

I'll repeat: I think the frequency of Ticks depends on the activity of the Pilots. And nothing else.

I meant this process:
That's caching issues - see how it jumps between two sets of values and then stabilises on the new one, then doesn't change again for the rest of the day?

You'll see it bounce more after the tick in systems with more players reporting data, because they'll refresh their caches at a wider range of times, but it doesn't represent a real change.
(And more BGS-focused trackers than Inara will compensate for it and only show the change and not the bouncing)
