Human kind has had access to night vision technology since the 20th century. So why in 3302 do I have to fly my Asp explorer around the dark side of planets with little more that a pair of LED headlamps and pray they reveal that huge mounting rising in my path before I smack into it at a boost? Or how about driving my SRV with its pitiful illumination hoping a gaping chasm doesn't open up in front of me.
.
Why can't my highly advanced onboard ship systems can't be retrofitted with a state of the art night vision system? It can overlay my view that same way it generates them pretty orbit lines for me, with that lovely green night view like you see in all the old war movies from 2013. .
.
This should be standard equipment for explorers. There's no reason we should be sending our brave men and women out into the black with no more than luck to protect them from unseen dangers. Shame on you, Lakon Spaceways.
