Newcomer / Intro Type 10 Offender

After building up enough money, I have finally got my type 10, and I love it! it looks great, like a HALO Pelican. I really don't mind the go faster spoiler. BUT what is the point of allowing so much module spaces, if you can not fill them before a Mass warning stops you? Dont tell me, buy another ship like a Anaconda or a Corvette. I have used these before, I like the type 10, its my choice, you choose yours, each to there own!. Why is it so slow on turning, i thought it was ment to be a battle tank?? Movement and fire power. Or is it designed as a artillery, static and pounding?

Developers, could you bump up the turning speed, and bump up the Mass allowance to allow me to fill up the modules and play the game in the way I want to play it, generally all-rounder, with a ship of my choice.

You may want to put better thrusters on it...

But it's a big armoured battle barge - it aint gonna be quick at turning & burning...

pretty much this, most of the big ships are slow and lack agility (although the cutter has some speed and the corvette has some agility)
7a thrusters with engineering will make it a lot better though

Better thrusters - Check, now searching EDDB for 7A thrusters

Welcome to Elite Dangerous and the Newcomers forum.

When you get access to him you should visit Professor Palin to get those thrusters engineered to grade 5, the T10 is of course a derivative of the T9 Space Cow and although better has similar handling characteristic.

Of course you need to put on the right internals if you want to upgrade it.
WIP, provisional designation 777 (check the price... no, that was unintentional) - haven't built her yet, and probably never will, since by the time I have that kind of money (plus rebuys), the game will have changed.

I was considering a T10 - but I went for the Anaconda instead.

Every time I buy a new ship I run a little personal test.
I put 3 pips to Sys, 3 pips to Wep and none to Eng

Then I set the power to 25% to see how fast it goes.

I did this with the Annie and my grandma could outrun it on a bicycle. (and she's got arthritis in one knee)

The t10 is one hell of a turret platform, generally with all the Type ship you may want to A-rate all of it, because the 9 and 10s are seriously sluggish and big so you'll need the thrusters big enough etc etc.

I wonder how many of Ts 1 - 5 are obsolete ships like the Cobra Mk1 and how many will show up as cargo shuttles.

I suppose the Keelback could be the T8.

Yes, except isn't the Keelback smaller than a T7? Other than that yes. Maybe a T8 could basically be a larger Keelback.

Some great points and advice, thanks, I would love this to be my trader, esp with the fighter bay, someone thinking its an easy target for a steal, and then bam, 10 turrets of firepower and a fighter buzzing about giving them the good news. Can see why this would be good for mining, you could have a luagh in the fighter, if the mining got a bit to much.

Thanks Cmdrs

The T10 turns slowly because it was a quick upgrade job of the T-9 by the Alliance and Lakon to help get a cheaper big ship capable of wielding anti-thargoid weaponry into the war. But it makes up for it with better than average heat resistance, and better hull and shield factor than the T-9. Yes, the cutter boosts faster but it's basically a long giant rocket with wings and lots of drift and costs a lot more to upgrade and insurance rebuy.
