Type 6

I too feel like dropping ED for good too, after not regretting having a two-week break now (after discovering that they downgraded the Asp since Beta). The Asp is useless for grinding, one might as well keep the Type 6 and save the money. There's definitely a Type 6.5 missing.

And while I do understand that the Asp is an allrounder while the Type 6 is a cargo vessel: the Asp is still five times as expensive. It may have noticeably less carrying capacity as a freighter of a similar price range, but not less than a freighter that's worth 1/5th of it.

The fun is significantly reduced to me with the lack of ships. I recently played Frontier again and got to own a Panther Clipper in one afternoon after having not played for years. Maybe that is way too easy, but on the other hand, now I'm forced to grind for days in the most boring way imaginable just to get from Type 6 to an Asp (only to find out that it's pointless). And maybe I'm too dumb, but my Type 6 seems to be insufficient to kill that General in his Fed Dropship, so I won't advance in military rank either.

I may play it a little more just to fathom out what else there is - like trading rares or exploring or bounty-hunting. But still. Way too long. I don't want to play this game forever. I instead want it to play repeatedly. Like Privateer... I've finished it a dozen times or more by now.

I relieve the grind by spending a few days killing things and then doing an afternoon's money grind.

Would be nice to have a tow-hook and trailer for mt L6 though! :D

I'm confusd by the amount of posters who say the asp is pointless, granted it's a lot of money but you can trade well and arm it to the teeth so are able to take on the interdictors rather than just run away a la T6. you can also do some kill missions to break it up without having to swap ships. Buying one today and looking forward to it, got the purchase price and 10 mil for some upgrades. keeping the 6 too just in case.
