I've given up on jumping to USS to find Mechanical Components and put an interdictor into my Python and while waiting for T9's spawn I've given other 'haulers' a shot and I had no materials drop at all from Keelbacks, Type 7 and the Orca.
Granted that I didn't kill many of them so far, only 2 Orca, one T7 and one KB but still, ALL other ships always dropped something, so did I just get unlucky or do these really drop nothing?
Edit: ok, seems like some ships NEVER drop anything. I've just ravaged a Seeking Weapons POI and quickly found out why the T9's didn't even attempt to run, they in fact didn't even turn hostile as I blew them apart: no loot whatsoever.
3 of 6 escort T6 fought back, the remaining 3 T6 and 3 T9 literally didn't give a ... nor loot.
I'm done with the components, screw them, screw the drive tuning, I'll never gonna come across them, I'll just wait until we get material trading so I get my drives tuned in 3608 maybe.
A positive thing I can note though is that interdicting NPCs isn't extremely in their favor anymore, not sure about the minigame, felt the same, but the spinning afterwards was massively reduced, I could usually stop it after a quarter turn and be in full control again where as before it was atleast 3 total spins in all directions before the controls even started countering it.
I also seem to no longer take damage from winning there, the npcs still don't take failure damage though but ah well, things are changing atleast.
