Type-7 Help (How did I do this?)

I just purchased a Type 7 in hopes to amass my fortunes, however while sorting through individual upgrades for my internals I think I may have broken my ship. I now have a maximum jump range of 3.1LY at max, which won't get me very far.. I have inserted a picture, I hope someone has some suggestions, I am limited to this current location, which doesn't not have many available upgrades. Thanks in advance, I am hoping not to have to scrap and repurchase, as I wouldn't have much to start trading with.

You've fitted a class 3 frame shift drive into your class 5 fsd housing - that needs to be a class 5 fsd. Similar thing going on with the power distributor and power plant. If you haven't enough to buy the correct gear then you might be out of options :(
4.2 million might cover it but if my Asp is anything to go buy it may not be.

That's the basic set up for a trade T7. It looks like you made the same mistake as me when I upgraded to my T9 and didn't factor in enough credits for upgrades, insurance and cargo. I had to drop down a ship and it cost me 12mil to sell, buy a diff ship, find a station selling the max fsd I needed and then rebuy.

You have no option buy to change ships and find a station selling what you need although there might be another station in the system selling what you need.

buy another ship or upgrade to A3 and try it out then. If no ship is available ... hmmm ... contact support and ask if they can move you to a certain location o:

Ouch, seems I may have made a similar mistake with upgrading at a different location, now the part is not available to rebuy, and I cannot jump more than 1 system away which has no stations.

The Type 7 comes with a class 5 FSD when you buy it. Which means you bought a lower grade FSD. then would have had to leave the station and come back as to not be able to rebuy the FSD you sold off. but we all make mistakes. It's how we learn. If there are no other stations in the system you can try and get a class 5 FSD from then you will need to downgrade to another ship at a 10% loss and then upgrade back to the type 7 so it has the class 5E FSD. and go from there.

Yeah this is the reality i'm facing, it was a mistake for sure.

Pretty much 2 choices then, sell the whole ship (make sure you sell modules first) and grind up again in a diff ship also making sure you have more in-excess of what you have (30 mil min for a T7 so you can afford all upgrades, insurance, cargo and a bit of overhead).

Sell all modules on the ship except the basic ones to increase the jumprange so you can explore nearby systems for what you need. This will still leave you short of credits as I think you didn't save enough money before you upgraded.

Don't feel bad though, we've all been there :)

Tip for the future. When picking a FSD hover over drives and watch the jump range laden number of ly change bottom right hand corner. In fact watch that number when you hover over any kit that adds mass. Once you are sure then hit purchase. You will see as you go up to A grade components some weigh less and range will go up not down.
