After many happy weeks in my Type-7, I decided to trade it in for an Imperial Clipper
For some reason I had a desire to own this ship, I am very much a Lakon fan, big heavy rugged frieghter, the Lakon cockpits in the Oculus rift are a sight to behold. Many have said the Clipper has the best view, after 30 mins of flying I understand why.
These are the main cons I have found over the Type-7
1.Much smaller fuel tank, have had to refuel twice on a 180LY rare goods trip. Lakon could do it in one go.
2.nope, that's it.. this ship is frikin awesome!
It feels like a cross bewtween the flightdeck of a modern airliner, and a massive cruise ship. The type-7 bridge is huge, but the view from the clipper is perfect, in the rift I am completely surrounded by the main screen, the back of the bridge stretches almost twenty feet away. This is pure luxury.
The sounds are amazing too, you get a heavy thump as you retract/extend the huge landing struts, and the boost has it's own unique sound that gives a real kick if you have a BK Gamer attached to your chair.
Heat levels are very low compared to the Lakon's, The flight dynamics are just as I hoped, the ship feels heavy but smooth and responsive, it is also very quick. This will be a trading ship, but I have 8 Torpedo's just in case.
I plan to use mine for longhaul rare trading routes. I can't think of anything more perfect for cruising in luxury
Some quick rough shot's for those with a rift..
