Newcomer / Intro Type 7 Transporter needs advanced docking computer.

My Type 7 Transporter is based out of Macdonald Settlement in Alcor. Does any commander know the location of a station that sells the advanced docking computer for the Type 7?
I'm making too many Jingles landings and racking up repair costs on many landings, and a few liftoffs.

Neither the T7 nor any other ship NEEDS a docking computer. Some PILOTS, on the other hand, might think they need one though. It just takes a little practice to get good at landing and taking off. That should be the goal. After that, docking computers are a nice convenience that can allow efficient multi tasking while docking/undocking on ship builds that can spare a slot.

I prefer the standard dockking computer. They both land the same, but it takes less power. I've never found a use for the auto take-off that you get from the ADC.

There is no special docking computer for the T7. You can can get DCs at about 50% of all stations.

Your starter sidewinder had one ;-)
Most of the ships you bought too
I think that depends on how long ago you started and bought your ships.

O.P. As has been said any Docking Computer will fit any ship with a free size 1 or larger optional slot. It is useful to be able to land any of your ships without the DC as you can encounter stations without automatic docking facilities working, however I would say one is nearly essential for landings at bases on high gravity planets.

....

I think perhaps that is not quite correct - for ships one owned (already purchased) when the new slot/slots were introduced didn't they come with a SCA already fitted?

I didn't think so but you could well be right, I have been sober occasionally since then so then so the memory is a little suspect.
