Ships Type 8: Can't engineer 5D thrusters for dirty drives?

I have literally never seen this before. I can't engineer my brand new 5D thrusters for my brand new Type 8.

Is there a way around that limitation? Other than buying 5A thrusters, that is.

Maximum mass is also reduced along with optimal mass (-7.5% at grade 3, -12.5% at grade 5)... Hence the drives cannot power the ship.

Your options would be to reduce total (max) weight of other modules, or use a bigger or higher rated drive.

it was there when i checked before i posted my reply.

and i just check and it still is...

Maybe try clearing your cookies or site settings? The latter will delete your saved ships on the site though.
Try another browser first might work... I'm using FireFox btw.

According to EDSY, that would indeed allow engineering the thrusters fully.

However, after experimenting a bit more there, I decided to go for the 5A thruster anyway. The decrease in jump range is very small, while the increase in speed is much more significant.
