Type-9 Heavy Load out

I would remove the weapons and fighter hanger (maximize your cargo space). Unless you are building a battle cow, you should run 100% of the time if interdicted in a T9.

Get an A5 shield and boosters - you should never have any difficulty escaping if interdicted.

Thank you, want to be able to fight with the hanger just because I have never done it in the actual game! Probably with change it though in the future! Thank you and rep.

I'd consider fitting a docking computer, it's hard enough getting them out of stations without having to land 'em as well :) (Wouldn't use one on a smaller craft, before the flame-war kicks off :D

Edit: And maybe drop the discovery scanner, if you're exploring in a T9 you're doing it wrong.

Yeah, I always take shields as hull isn't worth the paper it's made of lately. Other than that, feel free to take whatever you want to experiment with while keeping cargo space as high as possible. I've never flown a Type 9 but I'm sure if I did, I'd have shields, a fuel scoop (I can't seem to go without fuel scoops, dang it), and maxed cargo space. And the smallest A rated Powerplant I can fit while keeping everything powered. I hate heat.

Seriously, though, fuel scoops are not needed for short routes. I'm just weird about needing them. :(

Edit: Docking computer might come in handy but I've flown something even worse than a Type 9. The Cutter. After mastering that brick, docking computers are a thing of the past.

I have got a type 9, is is the loadout http://edshipyard.com/#/L=A0Y0,EjH0...Le0BeE0,,0DI00Bk00AA01rq00720072005U005U02Uc0 how can I improve upon it for trading, I a man keeping the fighter hanger though

Ignore the shield boosters, I am changing them.

Dump the chaff & point defence, get quad shield boosters. I'd recommend an all seeker missile load out if you plan to fight back, major overkill against NPC, however it's a lot of fun (No WEP capacitor drain with seekers) Use mines if you only plan on running.

Either way you can run 4 in SYS and fight with ease. The fighter bay is more for fun, definitely keep it if you don't mind the small hit in profits, if you are using it purely for defence, a fighter is not needed, the ship can easily handle itself against anything when packing missiles or torps.

What this guy said, he was flying T9s back when we were all messing around in Eagles :)

Also can confirm seeker missiles work quite well vs npcs if you have multicrew since your gunner can lock onto your opponent from any angle and fire away :D

I would fit 2 medium hard points with medium torpedoes with Reverberating Cascade special effect. And rest with heat seeker missiles. When npc interdict you first destroy his shield generators with torpedo strike then kill his weapons/drives with missiles. Maybe one turreted weapon.

For open i would take ECM if you can use that to deal with players who have torpedoes or missiles, for other mode just all shield boosters. In open chaff isn't that use full in type 9 as its really big target to hit.
