Ships Type-9 Trading vs Other Trading Options

CMDR Makya, I ran the lightest D thrusters in my T9 I could, trying to maximize jump range in that beast. Not sure if the extra maneuverability is worth losing the jump range, I guess it depends on the route?

This I would agree with...

There's no 'standard' fitting for the T9, it entirely depends on the length of the jump(s) of your trading route.

If your jumps are each only 10 LY long, you can upgrade all kinds of stuff to make it fly a little better.

I'd say FD succeeded in giving it the feel of a weighty space truck. Too bad that's absolutely not my cup of tea. I can somewhat appreciate how it lurches and drifts when turning away from the sun after a jump - for about 3 times. After that, I just curse trading in the Python. Though there was really no question. Even with a very high profit single jump route, it can't compete with the T9. Even more annoying about the 13 LY jump range is, that you you often can't even make 20 LY in two jumps, because the systems you have to jump through are never aligned in a row... And each jump is a bit of a chore to heft that thing around the sun for the next jump. I also can't understand why all the space ships in a British game sound like poorly maintained american cars. Well, the Vulture gives a sound mix of tug boat and black hawk down... go figure

I've yet to measure if this latest 3 jump route will bring more per hour than a lower profit single or dual jump route would bring. Certainly, I can't find any worth-while single-jump trade routes with the trade tools and searching the game itself takes a LOT of time.

I hope one of the Anaconda owners can tell me that its much more agile than the T9, if maybe not quite as zippy as the Python...?

I can't bear the view in the conda, having the deck obscuring 40% of the view isn't worth any amount of money. :p I only flew one in beta and resold it after less than one hour, but have no plans whatsoever to buy one again.

Yeah, that's a little much of your view to loose from the pilot's seat.

Still, the Python doesn't exactly have a golden view from the cockpit either and I happily put up with that for its easy agility and speed.

True, the T9's cockpit view is every bit as good as the ASP, but I despise its flight characteristics.

"Ponderous" would be the word - too little engine for the tonnage...

Type-9 all the way! See my other posts about it. 500T cargo, 13LY jump range and I have a route that is 12.8LY and nets me 1.1M per trip. It's about 5M per hour, as I did 10M the other day.

I left that trading place, it was in Federal space, Gilgamesh to LHS 339-7, as I wanted to head back to empire space and prep for 1.3.

I find the trades are not as good in empire space, thus far.

I went Clipper, Python to type-9. I sold the Python with in a week. I just did not enjoy it. It has good fire power, but it's a dog to fly, just like my type-9. But, that is acceptable in the type-9.

Anaconda is very nice to fly if you like heavy ships, I would say it is my favourite flight model in the game, feels heavy but responsive. Still personally I prefer flying the T9, purely because it is a beast that can be tamed once you understand it, you have to be way ahead of the machine to get the best out of it.

Thanks, heavy but responsive is good.
Like an expensive, heavy car with good road manners.

Taming beasts, the interest wears off for me, once its tamed. I like luxury. Taming a beautiful white horse on the other hand... well, the T9 isn't one.
