Type-9 Vs Eagle...

Just killed my first CMDR.. Have to say it was a rush and not how I expected... Was in a Type-9 loaded with 7 million credits worth of Palladium. Only a few light seconds from the station. Am suddenly being pulled out of warp, no chance of evading or seeing who is interdicting due to all the ships in the vicinity.

First off I was flying without insurance.. yes I know, very stupid, not something I normally do but earlier I had spent a ton of cash on a ASP.

So this guy pulls me out, I shout red alert (geek alert) to voice attack and the ship diverts power to shields, disengages flight assist, and deploys weapons.. My lumbering 1800T ship is coming about while the Eagle is doing an attack run. Torpedo's lock... the dude was dust after 10 seconds.

Part of my CMDR name is 1978... Buddy, if you are reading this, what where you thinking? Would you really expect me to be unarmed whilst carrying that much cargo?

Thank god it wasn't a Python or Skilled CMDR in a Cobra.

Torpedoes are such satisfying things to use on a trader. For a while my trade Python was armed with nothing but Torp launchers, the standard tactic being to do exactly what you did.

But managing it in a Type 9.... Awesome :D

I have no weapons on my type 9 :)

But there is also not a CMDR in a 100ly radius.

That's so awesome! I'm going to put torpedos on mine now. I just bought an asp as a side ship too! I tried hunting down some trade routes but came up dry. Heading back to my Type9 now.

Story time. Cobra NPC interdicts me in my old type 7. I deploy my mine launchers, and start firing. He went from full shields to 44% in the first wave, dead on the next. Too bad there are no rear view mirrors to watch the explosions.

IIRC a cobra still pops from a single torpedo volley :D
