Typical updates...one step forward, two steps back...

Well I'll give it to Frontier...they fixed the bug where all my dinos died for no reason. Why the post then? Because now my dinos get out for no reason and then start dying. Then one dino apparently got stuck on a ranger post and starved. Wish the game map actually showed me which one was low on health. Good thing I checked before I wasted money on the paid DLC.

It sucks that you're having such an annoying bug.

I will say that the map does actually show which dinosaur has low health. I think it has been like that since the release. If a dinosaur has some kind of ailment you'll see an icon. But when the health goes lower than 50% a different icon is shown. And an alert is also visible at the top of the screen that an animal has low health. Clicking on it instantly brings you to that animal with low health.

I know what you're talking about, and it doesn't happen which was part of the problem. Even when below 50% it was not visible on the map. This is xbox so I can't click it. Actually, the low health thing might not have been a major issue as the MVU teams seem to handle it well for the most part, but some of the dinosaurs keep escaping even with escapes turned off and then starve/dehydrate that way.

That's Frontier's motto: One step forward, two steps back.

And we continue with tiny 2001 Pteranodons; dinosaurs that get shriveled and old even with the death by aging option turned off; a buggy Quetzacoatlus, docile and too big for the aviary dome; totally abandoned aquariums and of course, new bugs taking the place of old bugs.

After inserting the other Dominion dinos (which I bet they split into two DLCs to earn more money), I hope they release a series of patches significantly improving aviaries and aquariums. It's time to pay attention to this. But I don't put that much faith. I always think they prefer to just keep releasing more packs of new dinosaurs to please the kids and guarantee extra money.

Totally disappointed. In the next DLC I will consider not spending my money if game problems persist.

The dinosaurs visibly age? I did not notice that. Then again...perhaps constantly dying prevented me from noticing. That being said, I don't get why you still spent money...I am not buying this DLC until my game is at the very least playable.

You made a wise decision. Yes, there is a bug where even though dinosaurs have unlimited life, they age getting wrinkled, losing color and strength. As usual, we have to scream about 70 times before the developers pay attention to things like that.

I'm curious as to why I don't notice these bugs. I assume it might have to do with old gen consoles? It really seems to be them that really struggle with this game.

Maybe. Do you know any sites where I can see the difference from aging? Why even have aging at all in a game Frontier? Just let them die of old age, the game does not have to be THAT realistic.

There are complaints about it here on the forum. It's one of the bugs that never gets fixed...

You put infinite life on the dinosaurs in the sandbox, but they still seem to age visually and lose fighting ability. They don't die, they just get ugly and weak. That's why I say, one step forward, two steps back... there's always some new bug that goes months without a fix.

Hey Camargo! As far as I'm aware, this is intended. The dinosaur's lifespan is Unlimited, but they will still age and show the effects of that aging.

If it’s intended, please let the team know that aging should be disableable in sandbox as well because of those other effects of aging besides death.

Please fix this by putting an ON/OFF button for dinosaur visual and strength aging in sandbox.

I see a lot of people complaining about this as they want to sandbox beautiful dinosaurs in peace but the game ages them quickly. I don't want my animals to die in 2 hours of gameplay, but I also don't want them to get ugly and wrinkled. It makes no sense for them to be like this if I turned off death by age.

That sounds almost like an intentional smack in the players' faces. "Yes, we will let you make sure your dinos live as long as you want, but they still age!" If they age still, what's the point of them living forever? That's like a genie-style wish grant.

Yeah...that's really bad...I know mummified edmontosaurs have been found; doesn't mean I want one in my park constantly.
Wait...anyone else notice how we just got more of an answer for this problem in a comment than for the actual problem in the main post? XD

Regarding dinosaurs phasing through enclosures, it's an ongoing issue and I let the team know when reports come up. If you're able to provide us with any additional information that would be very helpful :)

Good to know. Is there a page for this already on the issue tracker? Not that encouraging that dinosaurs don't stay in their enclosures in a game where you are supposed to keep them in enclosures...

Obviously it's not meant to be happening, which is why we're also still working to solve this issue :)
But I have noticed a pattern that major fixes like this seem to coincide with paid DLC, which seems to come about every 3 months. With that pattern, this game will have been mostly unplayable for 9 months after launch.
