UA triggers death now? Is this new?

So i felt like id go grab a UA and jump about a bit to trigger the little cinematic since i havent done it before. I have seen it happen to people before getting pulled out scanned then the thargoid leaves but it seemed that when i did it there were 2 thragoids waiting. One scanned me and left like normal then once i gained controle of my ship again i was going to just leave only to notice that the secound one never left and as soon as i looked at it was aggressive and began to attack needless to say yeah it killed me pretty quickly. So just want to know if this is new or have they added this since the return season began?

Did it say somethint allong the lines of "look at that tasty cargo"?

But i think its quite normal, if you have something they want, and dont drop it. They will attack.

Yeah pretty much i thought the UA got taken off you when being scanned. Guess ill have to go get some payback at some point :)

welp happy i didnt do this in anything bigger than my Python.

The OP seems to be conflating different things.

Fly around in the Pleiades and you'll get hyperdicted by Thargoids sooner or later regardless of whether you're carrying UAs or not.
This was a cinematic up until 2.4(?) went live, at which point it stopped being a cinematic event and became a live-action thing instead.

As for UAs, up until 2.4 our interactions with the 'goids were all cinematic so even if you were flying a Cutter filled with UAs you'd only get the same cinematic.
After 2.4 went live, however, the Thargoids started getting shirty if they caught you stealing their stuff.

Overall, nothing has changed. All that's happened is that a wider range of interactions was implemented with 2.4
Now, if you're not carrying UAs, they'll give you a sniff and then leave but if you are carrying them they're going to be upset.

Is it bad, I've still not been hyperdicted, and they've been in the game over a year now...? Lol

Well as Stealthie as stated you could go to the Pleiades and jump around the systems there and you will have a high chance of being hyperdicted oooorrr you could do what i did and grab a UA (if you have professor Palin unlocked id suggest installing a corrosive cargo rack) and jump about what will increase the chances it only took me about 6-7 jumps. But as seen by my mistake id be ready to ditch the UA as possible so you dont die like i did haha :D

I did.... Lol

I've dedicated an entire session to being hyperdicted pre-2.4. As well as made numerous visits to the Pleiades since last January. Lol

I even found a UA and carried it about for a while trying to find a UP for the alien base.
Nadda. Nothing. Not a peep. Lol
(I never found a UP either. Lol).

Then 2.4 came out and I was already in the Pleiades, ready and waiting (to die. Lol)

Still didn't get hyperdicted.

My very very very first ever encounter (even including the original Elite) was when I dropped in to a non human USS and got shot at for being too nosey. Lol
So I shot back. With standard weapons. For quite some time before I found out what the Thargoid missiles do... :D
I have a (really badly shot) video somewhere of my "learning experience".

I've been carting a Cutter-load of Emergency Power Cells to Obsidian Orbital every night for a week and I've been hyperdicted at least once on every trip.

It's never been a problem. I just boost a couple of times before the shutdown-field hits and then I can use the camera suite to watch the 'goids sniffing around the area where I was before I boosted.
Then my ship gets itself together and I can jump away.

Based on my own experiences, I'm amazed that anybody can travel the Pleiades without getting pan-handled by the flower-ships.

In 2.3, I spent quite a bit of time monkeying around with the 'goid bases.
i wonder if, perhaps, that weights the likelihood of being interdicted, somehow? [where is it]

Having a UA in your cargo does not affect your chances of hyperdiction.

They wait for you to give their stuff back. You chose not to. They corrected your bad attitude. Been that way for months (well, how long has 2.4 been out?). Next time you will respect their authoritah.
