Hello guys and gals. Welcome to the UEE Refugees' thread! In here feel free to discuss anything related to Star Citizen, Elite Dangerous, general gaming, or just talk about the excellent waffle you had for breakfast. The Star Citizen thread is still in the Sci-Fi Games section for in-depth discussion of major events and gameplay. Please keep patch notes in that section. Complaining about the latest ship sale based on concept art, however, is always allowed.

Edit: to clarify, that means general discussion about whatever you want. Nothing is off-topic in this thread, as there is no topic. The commonality is that most of us are expatriated from the UUE.

(Disclosure: I am a backer of both ED and SC, and hope both succeed. That said, I do find things in the SC universe to be a bit shakey and am more worried about that project turning out as-promised than I am about ED.)

What does UEE stand for? :S

Also, I did have a nice porridge for breakfast. Dried cranberry, sultanas, crushed nuts (not mine), cinnamon and honey. Yummy!

United Empire of Earth. It's the main human faction in Star Citizen.

That sounds tasty, but I'm American, so I had a completely unhealthy steak, egg and cheese biscuit. Mmmm, I can feel those arteries clog just that little bit more.

See, that is just the cheese biscut! Nothing unhealthy about a good ol' steak and egg breakfast... I usually just suck down some sausage links and eggs in the morning... lunch is when i do the real damage to the arteries! Dinner is about roughing the liver up a bit.

And agreed- feel the same way. Backed both, want both to do well... but feel SC needs a lot more time to cook. I think it was released (even as Arena Commander) much too soon.

+1,

Breakfast was fried something or another, I can't tell you exactly what it originally was as it was too dark to see it clearly when I hit it with a 9 iron.

Well, I'm a vegetarian since over 20 years so hence my porridge breakfast... :p

As for SC - I was considering paying for either that or ED. I didn't do much research about SC in all fairness, but I read a lot about ED. That portion of reading + the sentiment I've had for the previous games + the fact that FFE is the best game of all times ever on my personal list made me make that decision to buy it :)

And I'm glad it turned out that way, at least I can play and beta test it.

I haven't got anything against SC whatsoever, but from what I've read I think I'd be extremely disappointed if I purchased it.

Well, I'm working midnight shift right now. So breakfast is really more like my dinner. Washed that biscuit down with a couple Sam Adams Octoberfests. I am the pinnacle of health. :)

We need to get some content in here, so just going to throw up some pics I made for the Mobi-glass thread over on RSI. The idea given was to photoshop things onto the PDA concept art they provided. Posted a couple of these over here already in the other thread, but going to put them up on here so people have more to see when they come to this new thread.

Here is someone playing ED on their mobi-glass. Smart person.

Here is a mobi-fail. It uses the Metro UI.

Here is all manner of awesome. ...Just because anything with Firefly is cool.

And finally, here is checking out someone good at separating a fan from their money. The first lady of SC.

Eliminate that cheese biscuit (and beer), or make your own from non wheat-flour/sugar/starch sources, and you'd be surprised at how healthy it actually is. Known as Ketogenic ;)

Speaking of breakfast, when will we see those little microwaveable sausage and egg muffins in our ships?

Not healthy, but convenient and fairly tasty. I am sure there is a little galley in the Freelancer, and I've got an empty cargo bay to throw the wrappers in. It's also a precursor to testing out some of the erm, other facilities :)

$55 million stretch goal perhaps?

Nah the $55 million stretch goal will be to add a Smell Studio, its job is to create and in cooperate all the realistic smells into the game. In this way CIG is going to future proof the game. And taking VR to the next level.

People should never dought CIG, after all with this new stretch goal the WC/bathroom now have an in-game function. CIG just had not shown us all of their plans.

Are you saying she eats rats?

No, a likeness in the sense of a smiling extreme phoniness with darker reality just below the surface. But I'm sure no rodents were eaten raw in the mass production of hype and spin...well, I hope anyway.
