Has anyone thought about having UFOs in ED? Imagine, flying through a solar system, out of nowhere, something flashes in front of you and beams a light on you, then takes off, and its gone. Having some encounters would be amazing. Have a different kinds of UFO, that do different things.... now that is a must add to this game

Fail because making a suggestion to include aliens in a game that they are already scheduled to appear in...
Also, I don't own a Cruz, super or otherwise.
They're on the way, only we call them Thargoids 'round these parts.
UFO ≠ Alien lifeforms.
I think anomalies, unexplained phenomenoms could do a lot to break from the monotony of supercruise and stuff like that.
Having your systems start to fail because of a physic anomaly could be a lot of fun
Edit : they could also add an hidden fatigue meter where if flying for longs period of times without rest would make you start seeing things (subtle of course)

Not in UFO as in Aliens. But as Unidentified flying Objects (Ships player never seen before). Something like what we seen from Edwards Air Force base all the time. Like the B 52 Bomber for the first time or F-117 Nighthawk.

how was I supposed to know they had them in the original Elite? They don't have them in ED, which is why I am suggesting it. It would make the game more fun. Not too much to do yet so this game gets old fast. There's only a certain amount of times you can keep dog fighting until you realize your ship cant be upgraded anymore, and you get bored. Something new would give this game a spark. UFOs would be pretty bad ass

A quick Google search on the original Elite gave me 5 different pages, all of which mentioned Thargoids and Alien races

1. wth is wrong with my hyperdrive?
2. That's a lot of contacts on my radar!?
3. These octagonal things don't look like anything I've seen before!?

I didn't think I would have to explain what I meant by a UFO. UFO is short for Unidentified Flying Objects, not Aliens.

I never heard of Thargoids, so I wouldn't know what they are. That's why I said UFO.
Jesus guys, I didn't think this would turn into some argument or anything. How am I supposed to know what Thairgoids are, I didn't play Elite in the 90s. UFOs mean Unidentified Flying Objects, not Aliens. Although aliens would be amazing also. All I wanted to say was that UFOs AND Aliens, or "Thargoids", would give this game more life. These awesome encounters would be so cool. You wouldn't know if its some new secret ship that Empire of Feds have been working on, or if its beings of anoter kinds..... there could be so many different kinds of encounters they can do.... that's all I wanted to say, no need to get nasty guys. The problem is that the common layman association with UFO's is Little Green Men, or aliens.
It's unfortunate, but it's there. Not too many people understand the term correctly for what it is.
