I really hope 2.1 releases before June 21st. If you've been following gaming news you know why. I'm afraid that once I start on that which I will not name here, I won't look back. If I'm not "re-hooked" (Because I'm taking a hiatus from ED until the missions get fixed) before the 21st it might be a long time before I'm back... if ever.

I'm genuinely concerned! I only have a few hours a week to play games and I generally only play one at a time. WHAT AM I GOING TO DO!?

How long after beta do updates generally go live? I think I saw 2.1 beta slotted for the end of May or beginning of June, right? It's cutting it close.

If the game is good enough to make you forget everything you like about ED...then you should play that game.

Personally NMS isn't quite my style, but I might give it a go after an inevitable steam sale.

ED still hits most of all the things I want, with things that I still want in the pipeline.

It is much more likely that Star Citizen could take time away from ED for me. Though, it looks like I'll just be playing through the campaign and coming back as the MMO side looks quite a ways off.

Beta is scheduled for 'sometime in may'. As for NMS: the only real similarity is that 'its in space'. Its a bit like saying "if the next PES patch isnt good I'm going to platy NBA". Yes, both feature balls, but its not really the same...

Yeah, mentioned this in another thread. TBH, I don't think it much matters after the NMS release. For me ED will be shelved. I'll still be following ED via the various YouTubers but I'm not planning on looking back for a good while. The latest gameplay revelations of NMS just highlight the shallow pool that ED is currently and it's going to take MUCH MUCH more than just 2.1 to fix it.
