Uh.. Weren't we promised a digital art book for mercenary edition?

I own Mercenary Edition, and I remember that it included a digital art book from the game. However, it was delayed, but seemingly forever. Could anyone provide information on this?

You know... I really like this business model of FD...

I think I'm gonna try it myself: So, to any of you who are still single and unhappy about it: For a very minor fee of 100 Euros per person, I promise I will get everyone of you an absolutely gorgeous spouse that meets all of your requirements for a lifelong relationship partner. Honestly!

Wanna fund my kickstarter campaign? :D

For the more "explicit" and specific requirements I might have to charge you extra, of course... I think you'll understand. :p

They have not forgotten about it.
One of the devs said so quite recently.
I just can't remember on what occasion.
We will get it.

I hope that they will eventually release a big paper concept art book.
I understand that the development of ED is not finished by a long shot, so a lot of concept art is still coming, but they could release a book in multiple volumes.
I'd buy all of them.

The thing is, in.. Uh.. last January I think they said that it was coming in the next couple of months, near future. Now over a year has passed.

What could make it take so long? Are they critically understaffed on the art book, or are they adding expansion concept art?

We haven't forgotten that its still owing, personally I don't mind waiting for a few seasons more, so it will include later stuff like habitable planets etc.

and I'm still waiting, in vain no doubt ;), for merc paint jobs for the other ships.

My guess is they don't want to release it without some of the concept art for key features which haven't been implemented yet and might count as spoilers if they get out (i.e.: Thargoids)

Either that or art books are a complete pain to organise when you're a games development studio :p

It's weird really, it would have been a simple deal to put all the concept art we've already seen in a PDF and release it a month after release. By waiting for a year, it only makes expectations that much greater.

It must be awesome if they've worked on it for so long!

This crossed my mind just now and I thought I'd see if there was any news of it. Last time I remember anyone from FD mentioning it was in one streams leading up to Horizons or maybe the one on release day. "We're still working on it, finishing touches" or some other excuse.

I highly doubt it somehow, I think you're more on the money about us getting PDF. I think by now the reaction will be more "This is what took them over a year to deliver??!" rather than "OMG the art book is amaaazing and so worth the wait!!!!!1"

Well, my reaction at least, cynical git that I am.

Actually yeah - where is this, that we were promised. I don't mind waiting a bit but this is starting to feel like being scammed.
