UI Flaw When Mining/Track IR combo

I saw a couple suggestions about this but they were mostly in the gamma thread. Now that the game is released this should totally be addressed.

So I've come across a very annoying problem when mining. I recently picked up a Track IR and have been mining. Now the problem is that the default option as soon as you open your right computer is to vent everything in your bin. That creates the possibility for far to many mistakes.

What I have come across is that when I'm mining, I'm holding the fire trigger down. If something happens to my right or someone makes a loud noise in the room or I turn my head to scratch or anything, that makes me look to the right. If the computer screen opens up, it will notice I'm pulling the trigger and will auto vent anythjing in my bin (eg. 90% platinum I've been collecting from 3% chunks).

I've started learning from my mistakes and am being a lot more careful but please fix this... I suggest you just make it so if you are pressing the fire button and open up your computer. don't automatically execute the fire button input. You should have to release the button and press is again if you actually want to vent all your hard earned metals for whatever reason. Another option would be to have a confirmation request, but I could see that getting annoying.

Please fix this UI flaw as soon as you get a chance, it can be very frustrating.

Thanks for the advice, but as I said. I have gotten more used to that happening and I am being more vigilant.

None the less, this is a bit of a UI flaw. It will continue to happen to anyone new to a head tracking system. I'm just suggesting a slight change, that the trigger on a joystick does not activate anything on the computer if its being currently used as something like activating the mining laser.

This doesn't have much to do with going to fast, not paying attention or being careless... I will sit there for hours mining and being patient. I'm just saying, something as simple as moving your head to scratch it can open up the window and vent your refinery bin. That's a bit ridiculous. I can't understand anyone that doesn't see it as a design flaw... if you don't use a headtracker then you probably don't understand, but just think about being in a real ship in space... your pulling the trigger to blast away at an asteroid... you look to your left and your computer automatically opens up. In response to that, because you're holding the trigger to activate the mining laser, it detects that action as you not wanting to use your mining laser anymore, but that you wanting to instead vent anything that was in your refinery bin...

To me, that makes no sense.. it will happen to anyone that gets a head tracker and tried mining I guarantee... Happening a few times, it too much... If I was to hold space bar for some random reason and then Open my right computer screen I wouldn't expect it to select and vent all the cargo in my refinery bin... It really has nothing to do with being careless...

I have several friends who use Track IR and they don't have this problem. Again, this is not the game's fault.

Well, you are entitled to your opinion.. thanks for you input. I disagree with you.

More than 1 person has had this happen and a few people have even posted about it. It doesn't really make sense that the trigger would execute on something else if it is currently being executed to fire the mining laser.
