UI improvement and KWS/Manifest scan in detail

KWS scanning is in since day 1, but its similar underdeveloped as any other mechanic.
the only thing you get, is a charge bar that fills up, and eventually the bounty numbers in the left hand panel will change.
its something that anoyed me about using the KWS all time.

the DEVs could change that display in steps:
  1. display the actual bounty on the head of a selected ship on the MAIN Hud
  2. radio the bounty found via KWS via the info panel (top right) and put that into the journal
  3. for gods sake, communicate KWS done by gunner to the Helm
  4. display the exact composition of the targets bounty into a left panel tab (same as the manifest scan?)
  5. for CGs, piracy, powerplay, etc - give me an option to display me a audiovisual notification if a entry of my choice shows up on any scan - with a "lock Target of interest" keybind.*

*in detail: give me a ping if a desired micro-material shows up on the scanner, or a certain cargo item on a manifest scan, or a certain minor faction on a KWS scan...

from my post in the powerplay PFB topic:

some would call it "Hand holding" -> but IMHO there should be a cleaer indicator on the HUD, telling me if its ok to shoot at a target, especially in powerplay.

something like a traffic light:
green = you can open combat without punishment
yellow = you initiate combat but it will have minor consequences
red = you should not initiate combat because it will have severe consequences

this ofc would corelate with KWS and Manifest scanner results

1) A toggle button at most, I don't want that data clogging my HUD personally.
2) So it's in the left-hand panel, the HUD and has to be in the journal? Why?
3) Don't run multicrew, so can't comment (gunner can do KWS? That's awesome!).
4) This I can agree with, but on the other hand, if the target is worth 300K credits, and 250K is in another system, are you really going to reconsider whether it's worth engaging? Would still be a nice addition though.
5) This part I'd call hand-holding, look through the side panel/HUD, it's really not that hard to do a quick visual scan for the object you're after.

As for ROE, you already have a system for that: Is target "Wanted"?
Yes - Engaging will not prompt bounty/security response.
No - Engaging will prompt bounty/security response.

Powerplay is is designed to be complicated, not to speak for the community, but I really can't imagine people wanting it dumbed down. Also, traffic light system =/= clearer when you're color blind.

2) So it's in the left-hand panel, the HUD and has to be in the journal? Why? for several reasons. the journal is our API for text2speech output that FDEV is unable to implement
3) Don't run multicrew, so can't comment (gunner can do KWS? That's awesome!). its awesome... its a reason for multicrew in a vulture ;). but if you got a gunner you dont get a choice - he WILL have to do the KWS for you

you should check out the mentioned topic. "wanted" is actually not telling you if you will get the new PFB or not

Oh, I would love to check what a target is wanted for in more detail.

Smuggling Onionhead? Smuggling weapons? Assault? Murder?
If I'm gonna let wanted targets of my supported factions slide past the law, I'd prefer doing that with a little more detail.

Also you can limit the gunner role now and retain the kill warrant scanner for yourself. Some gunners have trouble keeping their lock on target long enough for the scan to finish.

Fair enough. Regarding the PFB system (I've been keeping an eye on it as it seems pretty game-changing), considering FDev still have a thread open asking players for feedback about the very design of the system, let alone how it will be built upon, deployed and improved; I think it's a tad early to be commenting on the HUD not supporting it.
