When using a head tracking device, it would be nice to have a selectable head tracking mode that does the following:
This way, a pilot can attempt to open and navigate menus without taking their eyes off target. There is a risk that they mess up UI navigation, but the reward is maintaining target awareness.
When using a head tracking device, it would be nice to have a selectable head tracking mode that does the following:
- UI menus do not open when looking at them
- UI menus open with a press of a button
- Opening a UI menu does not affect the camera in any way (no locking, a menu can be opened without it being in view of the camera)
- There is a visual indicator (in addition to the current audio indicator) when the menu is open
This way, a pilot can attempt to open and navigate menus without taking their eyes off target. There is a risk that they mess up UI navigation, but the reward is maintaining target awareness.
