UI Panel Selections

Hmm feel a bit dumb posting this. . . but not worked it out yet I've just signed up for Premium beta so dabbling about in the combat scenarios. . .

I'm using an xbox controller for now, and flying etc all fine. I don't like that I have to change freelook mode to target (but again might be bindings I need to change) but when in freelook, I turn left/right to see the menus, but how do I use/select things on them?

Not worked it out yet after trying loads of combinations

There is a section on UI controls in the main Controls menu, that will let you see what they are and tweak if necessary.

Had a look at that and can bind hot keys to bring up the panels and then the DPAD works, but seems like what I'd hoped was when I freelook at a panel the DPAD would work to change the settings, then when I'm back to front position the DPAD would do the settings for engine, wep etc.

Will have another play around later. .

Just thought I'd update as I've worked it out now, and tbh once I get the ED Tracker built will be more than happy

Basically you have two modes on the xbox controller with the right joypad. One to activate thrusters, or press it down and then you are in freelook mode.

While in thruster mode if you hold the B button down and then use the D Pad left/right you will jump to the side UI's and then using D pad + the top right/left buttons navigate through.

May be something everyone knows, but took me a while to sort it all out

Nope, took me a while too. I thought it would be Windows menu esque, where you scroll to the top then the left/right moved the top menu.
